New Foot Guard (1 Viewer)

..It's kinda like an after market FL Prussian Flagbearer if I am not mistaken... :wink2:. :rolleyes2: :salute::....At $150 each I might consider them
You are very much mistaken this is nothing like the FL Prussian Standard Bearer. Someone bought that Prussian Flag bearer for $70 and now is trying to sell it for 5 times that amount.

I've spent thousands of pounds bringing these figures to the market and hours and hours of work on each one researching every last detail on them. Buying countless books.Never mind flying to Russia to visit the studios. How dare you accuse me of being some toy soldier speculator out to screw collectors over.

I would like to see you try and bring a figure like this to market for $150

RESPONSE : Sorry if you are offended it's a beautiful figure but it is way over priced for a single figure.....It's simply unaffordable at those prices to purchase 8-10 figures for many collectors..... $400 for a drummer NAP footsoldier????? RIDICULOUS........PLEASE :rolleyes2:....Sorry but NO THANK YOU.........Good Luck

... I also was intrigued by this, wanted it. But the price is beyond What I can justify to myself, It would have meant a month's spending money for a line soldier, it's either this as a reference ,or the KC Amtrak, or The John Jenkins truly poseable Corsair, or A First Legion Tiger tank, this piece is a very beautifully sculpted painted figure.. But...

Mate you didn't offend me, you did annoy me but today is another after all you are entitled for your opinion but I wish you would get your fact straight before you shoot your mouth off all over the thread.
FIY the drummer DOES NOT COST $400. It cost just over $300 plus shipping

I have now knocked an extra £20 off the price

Sir/Mate, Just to clarify see Post #35: Gebhard's post said the figure with the pike was $325 and Drummer figure was over $400 dollars...That's where I got that number....READ THAT POST #35....(Your website is selling the drummer for 280 lbs which is $377 US dollars). These are beautiful figures no doubt but at $300 plus per figure I simply cannot justify purchasing them....My opinion: When I collect NAP figures I like to have at least 8-10 diffrent poses for a small battle scene....This would not be reasonable at $325 per figure ($3500+) .... Personally I see no point in purchasing 3-4 total NAP foot guard figures for $1200+..........Again I love the figures but it is just cost prohibitive for many of us......If they were around $150-200 it might be possible but at $300 plus it's ridiculous....IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME....Best of luck in selling them ..... Respectfully Frank

You got your info from Gebhards post which is wrong as I explained to him I the next post which you obviously have not read. I will explain it again if you buy from the USA you don't pay the VAT which is 20% so if you bought the drummer from my web site the cost would be(providing you live in the USA) £233 which is clearly not $400.

Not everybody collects the same things as you some people myself included don't want big battle scenes with hundreds of soldiers.
I prefer my soldiers in a cabinet 3 or 4 napoleonics and a flag bearer. That's what I like. When I see big battle dioramas I think that's nice but not for me. I don't rant about not seeing the point of having all those soldiers and think it's ridiculous, it's just not for me. As my Scots Guards are not for you.

There are differ tastes in this hobby it's not all about what you like or you want. You are quite entitled to your opinion but like I said early get your facts right before you decide to slag my prices of fall over my thread.

Now I hope you have a nice weekend.

FYI I have all my figures I one cabinet not a diorama in sight. It's what I like. I will post pictures of it in the collections section down at the bottom of this site. I will do it after the weekend.

I’m not taking a position on this debate but I do have one favor to ask: when you guys quote a post, can you please do so correctly. There’s a few posts here where it’s not easy to tell who’s talking.

Thanks.

I am posting in the normal way it's just not coming up the same. A fault with the thread I think

If you look at your posts, you’re missing the following, [ QUOTE ], which means it’s the beginning of a quote. You have this,
, which means the end of a quote but you need both, of it comes out the way it did.

This thread is a great example of how the hobby is different things to different people, some like to do large dioramas, while others simply set up figures in a cabinet; either scenario works for the collector, to each his own as they say.

These are high end, superbly painted Russian figures, not designed to be bought in mass and set up in a battle scene; if this is your thing, First Legion does a range called "Mass Battle", which are lesser painted figures designed to be set up en masse to create large dioramas, or they are designed for collectors with tight budgets who cannot afford 70.00 figures to do large lay outs.

Again, to each his own, collect what you want to collect and display them the way you want to display them, it's a free country.

I respect and understand your position and explanation.......3-4 Nap figures and a flagbearer displayed in a cabinet would very likely exceed $1500 US dollars with shipping.... (I believe if my calculations are correct : 233 british pounds is $313 US dollars before shipping) ....I would love to collect your product but it's just too pricey for me to justify for 4-5 figures.....Again beautiful footsoldiers.... I must say excellent detail and paint.......I look foward to your pictures of your display cabinet.........Thank You Frank

Sadly most are not, but Its really clear that Iwan does his homework and is very knowledgeable in the subject of uniformology . I know I learned something about the correct color of the sash for the 3rd foot guards.

I really enjoy looking at these wonderful figures and following this line, I almost pulled the trigger on the 95th figure. Since I now know that the vat will be subtracted from the price which is almost a 20% discount, I will definitely be taking a closer look if he again becomes available.

A few quick questions if I may, didn't you guys do a KGL figure ? And also are there any plans of doing any figures representing the Brunswickers ? regards Gebhard

Yes we did a KGL sergeant a few years ago, I don't even have one left to show you not do I have any pictures of one as my laptop broke a couple of years ago and everything on it was lost. I need a bit of a kick up the backside really to get the KGL and the 95th sergeants back in stock.ive been meaning to go it for a while. I will get a couple of each done, thinking about it I don't even have the 95th sergeant myself.

On another note I am pretty sure that all manufacturers put in a hell of a lot of research especially the likes of Kn C who are producing sets every month. I only do it pat time now do I can do it st my leisure whereas the big boys have targets and schedules to work to.

I would like to do a couple of Brunswickers but I have to sell at least 12 to cover the cost of the sculpture. Maybe if I get the KGL sergeant done and see how he goes and maybe make an officer to go with him. The problem is that they take so long to paint that I am only getting half a dozen new figures out a year.

I have bought the 95th sergeant from Iwan and yes it’s a lot of money but the painting is unbelievably good, way better than 1st legion who I am a great fan of. Go on Iwan’s website and check out the figure in particular the face which has an expression of impending doom. When you receive the figure it does not disappoint. Also if anyone is a rip off merchant they definitely won’t get rich quick selling toy soldiers. We all know that don’t we?
