Here is a photo of a couple new Grenadiers that should be in-stock in early Fall. Both are based on photos I took of a model wearing period clothing and equipment for ease of sculpting. I placed the figures on a diorama I built a few years ago featuring super detailed versions of our French village buildings.

Looking good from that angle too. - Also, would love to see some new fallschirmjagers added to WB's WWII collection.

I would love to see some volksturm, particularly with some variety and civilian cloths.

It looks like Britains is taking their paint levels up a notch. There is a lot more shading on the uniforms and equipment, and I like this a lot. However, there also appears to be a lot more shading on the faces, and I think this is actually a step backwards in realism from the recenttly released German Grenadiers, which had excellent and very realistically painted faces. I'd say the faces on the recent Germans like this one actually look more realistic than the faces on the upcoming Germans.

Please take this for the constructive criticism it is meant to be. I'd love to see the uniform/equipment painting of these previewed Germans with the faces of the recent Germans, I think that would be the absolute sweet spot for Britain's figures.

Hi,
Thanks for the comment, but what I think your are seeing is the lighting I prefer to use when I photograph miniatures. I feel that strong shadows show more detail rather than washing them out with a flood of light. I always use a light from above along with a bit of fill light, but that way I get nice shadows. I think you will see a fairly consistent style compatible with the recent releases such as the Grenadier you photographed.

Good to hear.

My only there critique would be to update the decals on the helmet of the kneeling grenadier to actual decals. The handprinted decals look like two regular letter "SS"s, rather than the angular SS runes, and the swastika decal looks indistinct.

Again, please take this for the constructive criticism it is meant to be, as I think ya'll at Britain's have been killing it lately with figure poses and subject matter.

Forgot to add, for future releases how about some tank riders as follows:

- a 5-man summer Normandy USGI squad armed with a BAR, Garands, and a Thompson
- a 5-man German Grenadier squad in Zehtbahns armed with two K-98K rifles, an MP-40, an MG-42, and an MP-44!

Since I'm posteing a wishlist of figures, how about some German Volksgrenadiers in low-boots, overcoats, and armed with MP-44s, G-43s, and MG-42s slogging through the snow to round out your Battle of the Bulge line?

The production figures have double decal helmets on the M40 helmet…(very small decals!) You are seeing Pre-production paint masters in the first photos I posted, so I will post updated photos as soon as I get a chance…I am catching up on sculpting at the moment.

I took a moment to set up a new environment for the figures, so here are a couple more photos of the new Grenadiers…with the decals for the insignia. I may take another one using the previous releases with them too.

As promised, I took a little time to photograph the new grenadiers with two of the figures previously released. I am hoping to find the time to build a couple of new displays for the Chicago Show this year, but it has been a very busy schedule lately…
