Tom ordered this set 1067 DEUTSCHEN KRIEGSMARINE U-BOOTE WITH DOENITZ. Have you noticed the unique artwork on most Hiriart labels? It is one of the things that first attracted me to their toy soldiers.

This is my five-year-old granddaughter, Chloe, looking over the toy soldiers with me on Saturday morning. She wanted Randy's camel, but I had to tell her no. She already has the fox from my Hiriart Tuareg set and the dog "Pip" from my Imperial Rorke's Drift set.

Mike ,

I know the feeling , ever-time I open a new set of toy soldiers my soon to be six year old daughter Berlyn wants to play with them...
Also when my four year old niece comes over she has affinity for my Ted Toy's Confederate Cavalry...
I had some 1/18 21st Century AFV's in their boxes that I ended up giving to my daughter to play with because I felt bad about telling her she couldn't play with any of my TS's...

Joe,

It is hard to turn them down, isn't it. But what is more important, toy soldiers or little girls? As my only grandchild, I am afraid I have spoiled Chloe rotten. Someday, some guy in her life is going to really be mad at me. Too bad!

I'll throw in a bag of TSSD plastic soldiers for Berlyn on your next order. I have them so I can take them to the West Coaster to give to liitle kids.

Mike

Bob set up some of the stuff that he picked up at the West Coaster for me to see. I think he must be single handedly keeping the show going. The sets include Bill Connolly conversions, Beau Geste, Britains, Hocker, Hiriart, Bastion, and others.

Bob also picked up three Metal Shed sets from Bruce Hebron. They were still in their boxes, but he opened up the World War I Austrian Skoda Gun for us to see. The other two Metal Shed sets were first aid tent vignettes.

The trouble with distributing the Hiriart order at Bob's house is that it is easy to go off on a tangent like I have just done with his West Coaster purchases. I hope you didn't mind too much. So, here is even a bigger divergence: Gus, who will be retiring on Monday, March 31st, pulled up in a beautifully restored 1950 MG TD. I offered to trade him my 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid, but he wouldn't do it.
