Good news, there will be a Toy Soldier Show in New Jersey/New York area on Sunday November 1, 2020.

A little smaller than the annual East Coaster, but a show nonetheless to keep our hobby alive!

Details:

Hilton Hotel
650 Terrace Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey 07604

SHOW TIME 9AM to 3PM.

Social Distancing, masks and general COVID conduct will be enforced. The aisles will be wide, the tables separated. No shaking hands, etc. That said, courtesy and common sense will rule the day and it should be a great time for all.

Come find some treasures and be sure to stop by and say hey (at a six foot distance of course!)

For further details, give me a shout and I will pass on what I know or forgot to post here.

That is the best news I've heard in a long time!:salute::

I won’t be attending. To operate a show in a pandemic seems the height of folly.

I also remind you and Eddie that under New Jersey regulations (as of September 1), indoor gatherings in NJ are limited to the lesser of 25 people or 25% of a room’s capacity.

Brad,
That is part of the formula and will be strictly enforced. I believe that with the 3 rooms and the way it was explained to me there will only be 75 people allowed in the space at any one time instead of the normal capacity of 300 people. 25%.

Everyone has to be do what they feel comfortable with. When I recently did the show in VA, it went fine and I have not heard of any issues. Folks maintained the proper decorum and courtesy and it worked out well.

Eddie has received all of the instruction from the Hotel and is aligning the space accordingly to comply with all restrictions. There will be less people density wise than if you go into a grocery store in all seriousness. Again, everyone has to do what they thinks is best for them.

I should have put the disclaimer in that I am not the promoter of the show, only posting the details that I have received. If you have any detailed questions, you have to call Eddie Gries of Relic Golden Amusements for clarity.

Thanks
Tom

Thanks for the info - i assume the Hackensack show will be cancelled

Unfortunately, I believe that is the case for this year. Being it is held at a University, I imagine the logistics were too large of an obstacle to overcome this year.

I am on the fence about attending. I will wait to hear back from my customers. Although I would like to go most in my inner circle are advising me not to.

I would like to see people who would go post and let us know what there thoughts. We know the risks so there is no need to post the cons.

Matt if anything like Annandale, no issues. Plenty of room, masks were worn, people were courteous about over touching items and no issues whatsoever. Logan and I wore masks whole time and just got used to it for hours! We took our own food and eliminated that issue, we probably will again for the most part. People maintained distance fairly well from what I encountered. As I posted previously, IMO, the population density inside the room was less than I encounter at my local Wegmans and BJ's.

Tom

If, as Tom describes, social distancing protocols are being followed, I may attend.

You are thinking about the small show held there once in the meeting room space. It has been moved to the Ballroom space which is high ceiling and much larger. Again, it is no where near as large as the Arena used for the Hackensack show, etc, but it is not cramped either. Hope this helps.

Matt,

He hosted one in his store the last two weekends in September and I think he's doing another one the last two weekends of this month too.

Smart move on his part; an in store toy soldier show.........good for him.
