New JJD Series at Chicago Show (1 Viewer)

I think the battle of Fallen Timbers is also a possibility.

I would really like that.Maybe a line of the Indian Wars of the Old Northwest.John really seems to like the 18th cen.,especially the indians.:):):)

That’s not a bad idea. The series would cover the declined of the American Indians in the east. The series would include the battles of Monongahela, Oriskany, Fallen Timers and Tippecanoe.

Personally, I am hoping for Europe SYW with Frederick or Trojan War. Whatever it is, I am interested.

For some reason I think he will stay away from K&C series. So no AWI or ACW.
He should, however, do the British opponents for his American War of 1812 series.

I think he will do an Indian village with the Native Americans in everyday poses (women and children, hunters, war dancing, cooking, etc.).
He may also do some captive scenes.

My opinion but I am sure we will all enjoy any of his new releases.

If this is a wish list, I'd like to see John do the Conquest of Mexico. Cortez and his conquistodors vs. the Aztec Empire. Seeing how great John does Woodland Indians, just think of what he could do with Aztec Jaguar and Eagle warriors.

That would be cool to have Spanish Conquistodors and Aztecs - I would be all over that - a very good international appeal as well. :)

New World could be in his sights - it seems he is heading there with that new single speciality figure release.

Could he go and do the American Revolution ??

Interesting Thought ! :D

I think this might be a good possibility, and have quietly wondered about it before. It would fit with JJ's focus on N. American 18th/19th Century subjects.

I hope that it will be Fort Carillon/Ticonderoga. I have the fort; now, I just need to cough up the cash for the soldats. More figures for Quebec would help, too. Louisbourg could also prove to be interesting. Many things to wonder about 'til the actual unveiling. I do believe that FIW collectors need more figures in a greater variety of poses, especially French troops. Pray that the leading model makers do not take the French Court's attitude toward this conflict: "Monsieur, when the chateau is on fire, one does not worry about the stables.":mad::(:(

IMO John Jenkins is the best for amphious warfare of the period. So imagine his take on Washington crossing the Delaware!

Troops being landed by the Navy for Quebec are a must. Wolfe quitely reading as he is rowed ashore etc

Besides the new line he will be showing I think Jenkins will show the whaleboat.

Sorry guys, but you are all wrong, the word is that it's..............wait for it:

WORLD WAR TWO and most likely GERMAN based.

I know most of you guys are into random conflicts that few people have heard about let alone care, but that means there is also a limited market for such kerfuffles as the Battle of the Snow Bunnies.

Now I'm sure there will be a great wailing and gnashing of teeth amongst those that think WWII was not nice and best ignored, but you know it's a wise commercial move for JJ in these troubled times. I understand the first German vehicle will be a Funkwagen with several poses of Germans doing Funky things. Clearly this is a more commercial answer to K & C's off the wall Pooper Troopers theme.

Well OZ that is one way to make friends (NOT).

Can I suggest you get a bucket and 4 litre of water, put water in bucket and then put your head in the bucket. :D

There is no need to come down here from the top of the forum threads (K&C) and pick fights. It is not the collectors of John's figures fault that John produces a better figure at a cheaper price (and limited editions to boot) than K&C. He seems to be able to keep his mind on one time period also and does not jump all over the place like K&C. :p

I would of expected better of an Aussie also. :(

Now if you had said WW1 and ANZAC and Turks well. :)

That should get the battle started. :p:D

Settle petal I was just kidding, maybe you should take some more of those pink pills of yours.

All kidding aside what's with all the anti World War Two posts I see from some members. Britains and K & C etc have barely touched the surface of that conflict.

Why shouldn't John Jenkins bring their excellence to more popular conflicts like WWII? I don't throw myself on the floor and kick my legs when K & C bring out a new range that I have no interest in as I'm sure some other collector will be happy about it even if I'm not.

OZ,

Just noticed your last two posts. Before this goes any further I was kidding too.

I was going to put a note at the end of my last message, but thought we could all see the funny side.

I hope you did not take anything said for real, Sorry if you did, I was just having fun.

On your comments about John doing WW2 stuff (very unlikely), but it would be excellent to have some desert rats or other Aussie troops by him. :)

But I think he is a musket man, we can only hope he gets to WW2 and all the other time periods at some stage.

I have not noticed the anti WW2 posting, I will have to have a look. I keep myself to this end of the forum. The boys up the top play to hard. ;)

(That comment will get me in trouble too).

No worries AM, maybe I should have used some smilies in my post(s) :D

I really like JJD products and I'm a big fan of Indian related wars be they in Canada or the US but I'm reluctant to collect another era for a variety of reasons, suffice to say I've been there done that as far as collecting goes.

Figarti have proved with their V1 and V2 range that there is still a niche in WWII for smaller companies with low production runs. I guess smaller companies tend to start with ranges that the owners are personally interested in. However that shouldn't stop them doing a popular range that will give them a cash flow to enable the continuation of ranges covering less popular eras. For example I doubt that Andy C is a fan of LAH but he knows it puts bread on the table.

OZ,

The number of different era's available these days (let alone manufacturers) is wide and varied. If you tried to collect all you would go mad (wait on I am there, mad that is).

I am at the moment trying to stick with two collections only, JJD FIW and K&C Napoleonic (no hope). But with JJD now doing 1812 and a new era/series on its way and the K&C Crimean Series.

I am not a fan of the LAH series, to much marching, not a lot of action. But if it let Andy C get the cash to get onto the WW1 Aussies and Turks, as you say all for it.

I just do not know how JJD does it, figures at $25 USD each retail, some of the best quality out there and limited runs of 500 sets and under. The man can not be making a lot of money.
