New John Jenkins Sets for release in September (1 Viewer)

You are good Aussie, very good...............you must have a mole working for John, an inside man so to speak......;)

Ron,
Will you be attending the Virginia show in September or will you be south of the border at that time?

George

Coming to the Show with CASH to spend at your table !

So bring some good stuff - as a newly married man I have to burn up all my Toy Soldier Funds before they get converted into Household Items :D ;)

Ron,
Glad you can make the show. It is sponsored by your toy soldier club down in the DC area and they do a first rate job there. They have guys ready to help the dealers unload and load their merchandise, they run a nice hospitality suite the night before the show and they have a nice area where club members set up displays of their work.

It attracts quite afew dealers from the East Coast, it is held in the gym of the college and is about four times the size of the show at the Annandale VFD, so you should enjoy yourself. I will be there, along with Brian Greenwood, Ronnie, Matt from The Hobby Bunker, Gary Green, The Marxman, Eddie Gries just to name afew. It used to be a two day show, but they changed it to a one day event, better for everyone involved.

I leave from there Sunday morning and go strait to Chicago, stopping in Gettysburg to see the battlefield as well................

Regards,
George

George

What is the name of the club?? Can you send me some information on them??

Thanks, Ron

Combat,

The info I posted was from John as he gave it to me.

So yes I think Sierra may have it wrong, but one would of thought that they got the same info.

They appear to have corrected it.

As an FYI, FM 05, BM 07, 08 and 09 are now all sold out via JJHK HQ, so this means all available sets are now in dealers hands, wow was that lighting quick...............

Warrior,

That was very quick, all four sets gone, luck I ordered a couple of sets of each.

I do not like saying it, but I did tell you so. :D

Everyone who preordered these sets from me will get their orders in the quantities asked for, it pays to shop early and this is a perfect example of "I'll pick up all of those later"......ah, no you won't if dealers sell out.

The gun crew can't be far behind. I assume that will be one of the more popular sets from JJ. Hopefully this forum has spread the word and lots of new collectors are jumping in before its too late.

Combat,
As a dealer, I am totally blown away by the customer reaction to the JJ series. When I started as a dealer, I had maybe four steady customers, that number is now up to sixteen and grows almost daily. I did a show yesterday in New York and picked up three more customers who said they are good for one each of all future releases.

I have found customers want to know they are covered and I am sure all of the JJ dealers in the system have experienced the same type of thing. With sets being done in quantities of 250, if you are a serious JJ collector, it is a good idea to be sure you are covered..............

All,

My new sets from John just arrived.

The Grenadiers are as good as the first ones, the missing hat ones are excellent.

The cannon comes in one piece with separate wheels, but the gun and carriage are one piece.

I did not think the photo of the new FM-05's looked that great, but the figures in person are excellent as per John normal standard.

Aussie Monty :)

andrew, is there any difference in the new firing sets to tell them apart from john's origional firing sets.. still waiting for mine, thanks

Pugio,

A couple of things for you.

The two new sets of Grenadiers BM-8 & 9 have poses that are very similar to each other. Basically same poses, except for the hats. The kneeling figure does have a different rifle straps, one is holding the strap (no hat) and the other is left free. The standing figures are the same (strap left free).

Comparing the new sets with the BM-01 set, the poses are similar but with some differences.
Rifle straps on old set are being held.
Rifle of the new sets are being held a little higher and closer to eye/head compared to the old set.
But other then slight paint color differences they are very similar

I spoke to John yesterday and he is out of the new Grenadiers so get them while you can. There will be no reordering by dealers.

Aussie Monty :)
