This rendition of the P-51 is a stunning example IMO. Very eye appealing paintscheme. A very nice tribute to the WWII RedTails Pilots :salute::

Nice idea, but too many over exaggerated rivets. I have seen many p51 mustangs and there are no such rivets. Kc should offer two styles one like they made and one without the darkened rivets

I guess you don't find it riveting ^&grin

Every mfg. has their own style ,whether it be in sculpting or paint scheme. It has been that way since the beginning of time. Every collector of each mfg. knows what they are getting in asthetics from the start. Why in the world should any mfg. have to change their approach, just because some folks do not get it..If a person is a K/C collector, the exagerated rivets, extra stowage, dirt and crud in the tracks, etc. etc is part of the K/C charm.. and is why most folks buy their stuff...Michael

I agree, and the panels on their more expensive wooden aircraft are too pronounced for my liking, but at least King and Country evolved from blue painted canopies to clear, so there's some hope {sm2} ^&grin

Shouldn't the gear doors be down?...............Just kidding! :wink2:

Well, if you like counting the rivets, it could be riveting! {sm4}

Tom

Tom and Brad, sorry if I was counting rivets again, I'll try and stop honest I will, but please, please, no more rivet counting jokes {eek3} ^&grin

i guess you guys haven't seen alot pf p51's in person or you would agree with me. i don't think i am being too picky. just want it right. and i would be willing to say that i have more kc in my collection than most of you so i am not anti kc. it is the same with figarti. i loved the he 219 but there me110s had these obnoxious rings around the fuselage that just don't look right. i am all about weathering and style but there comes a point where things are over done. maybe kc can inquire discreetly to some of thier regulars to see if they aren't thinking along the same things as i am and make some adjustments on the next plane.

Has Beaufighter weighed in on this yet? He is my PMK on planes, so I am curious what he thinks.

Here are a few pics of the previous K&C P-51 release for comparison .

Have to agree rivets look over done and don't know why K&C have gone back to this style , it just a cheap way of adding detail but does nothing for the plane.

Think your spot about the P51 and what wrong with wanting it right , it a shame as the KC Dora was very well done but are vote with my wallet like a lot of other do

Hi Guys,

Re UK Subs comment “What’s wrong with wanting it right….” Every one is entitled to their opinion and him and Hawkeye are certainly entitled to theirs as far as our Red Tail P51 goes…. I, of course, am also entitled to mine and I happen to like how our new P51 looks as do those who will buy it and have expressed positive opinions on the said aircraft.
That being a given….many thanks for your kind comments on the FW “Dora”…..Much appreciated and best wishes,

Andy C.

I've been consistently lobbying K&C on this forum for aluminum coloured USAAF planes and now I've finally got one and I'm very pleased. I also needed a P-51 in this variant so check another want off my list. The Tuskeegee is my first choice so I'm glad K&C did it and are supporting it with appropriate pilots. A must have for me for sure and I'll be adding USAAF ground crew. I personally think this series is underated and doesn't get enough attention. The figures and future possibilities are awesome.

Thank for you fair reply Andy .

The rivet pattern on this one kind of looks like "stiches." My preference is for the sort of finish that was applied to KC's Ding Hao.
