New LAH Dispatch (1 Viewer)

Dear all,

I know when I voice out my frustrations with K&C, somebody will say "if you don't like it then don't buy it."

But I would really want to express my frustrations with the new K&C dispatch...

They've retired the LAH staff car (which I already bought 4 - 5 years ago) and they brought it back again without much changes/improvement.

Also the Band has many figures (i.e. the Drum major) which is a repeat of the previous version. I really look forward to a new drum major with a different post (i.e. lifting up the drum major's staff etc) and also other branch of the services.

How about the Luftwaffe on parade? More Kriegsmarine? Why not re-produce the goose stepping LAH soldiers (remake the old glossy ones into matt version)?...


I realize this Dispatch may attract new customers into the hobby... but it frustrates the 'old' customer like myself.

to be quite frank, i'm kinda glad i managed to delay the LAH purchases, and now they are remade. I'm now awaiting new diorama buildings, and then i'm in trouble (with the family)

saying that i feel sorry for collectors who got the first releases, but if you're unhappy, maybe you can sell them? i think there are many K&C historical collectors around.

But if there isn't that much difference and you have the earlier version(s), I don't see what the problem is? Is it becuase there is nothing to add to your collection this month? Oh well, just means you can buy more the month after then.

I think you have hit on something that I have been contemplating for a long period of time. Without getting really deep into the abstract meaning of the individual’s relationship to a society, here is what I mean. Does the individual and his or her wants, needs, or desires really matter?

I am not talking about personal relationships. I am talking about the real inconsequentiality of the individual when it comes to things like having the individuals wants, needs, or desires met in a consumer society using a modified capitalistic economic system.

Here is what I mean. Manufacturers like drug makers ignore rare diseases that affect a relatively small number of individuals compared to the more popular diseases because the profit is not there to justify the R&D costs for the smaller population disease. Yet people are still sick or affected by the disease and have no recourse for drug medication until either a celebrity or the government gets involved or everyone dies from the disease, however long that takes and from whatever cause.

We collectors have a large list of wants, needs and desires just look at the large number of postings on this forum of what I call the musings from the great idea light bulb factory – the Dragon Wagon from me and John Gambale and his seemingly unending lists of what toy soldiers and vehicles he wants made.

Frustration and disheartenment begins to affect the individual whose needs, wants and desires are not met. They will not be met until a larger group has the same needs, wants, and desires and express them. And a manufacturer listens and begins to produce those things that meet those needs, wants and desires.

Until then, waiting is a virtue I seem to have not been able to find solace in. Plus what seems logical to me may not seem logical to a manufacturer. It is logical that a Dragon Wagon be made. It is logical that may of them would sell. But I don’t understand the logic of toy soldier production. So is a Dragon Wagon a reality, more than likely not.

Take from this what you will, but I feel your frustration with this hobby

I think the updated LAH figures and Parade Car are terrific as they are better detailed and the Parade Car is now 1/30 scale not 1/32.

That set when I buy it will stay in the box. It will never be seen by light. Very nice. Always love that kind of stuff for the LAH series.

Right on!! I have been pushing for different kinds of parade figures for a while now.. Its strange, but yet the more items K&C releases, it seems that K&C gets more generic! Also, it is about time K&C change the sculpts and shadings on the faces of the figures! I really can't understand why so many people are excited about the latest dispatch..

I agree with this. What is more symbolic of the LAH series than Goose Stepping Germans. That would have been a great addition.

I've just started my LAH display and I would rather have goose stepping SS. Oh well, they'll probably realease them after I spend my money on the ones out now.
