New line - israel/arab wars (1 Viewer)

I think club figures tend to be a tipoff of what's to come and, in addition to what I first said in this thread, I don't think he has any further interest in exploring modern or more modern conflicts, preferring to leave that to the FOVs of the world.

At the London Show, ACN did talk about liking the idea of more Modern (current) stuff, in particular, concentrating on British troops in Afghanistan. Could be a nice addition to the SF range with more troops and WMIK Landrovers. No arguements from me (shocker).

That just shows you Simon that nothing is fixed in stone. As he looks for new markets, you have to ask why not?

There were no definates, and I certainly got the feling that it wasn't in the current 9 months or so forecast, but it's the most positive indication that there may be more heading our way, that I've heard. Certainly hope so.

On the downside, there didn't sound to be too much hope for one of the other 'mini crusades' re the Commandos. Unless he can figure a way of doing HMS Campbeltown.

Re the Commandos, that's what he told me also. However, you just never say never...

Great idea and we could finally see a late war markiv as the syrians had mark iv's in their arsenal

If I recall correctly, ACN mentioned a trip to Korea at OTSN Chicago 2009.

Perhaps, the Korean War is next up for a post-WWII line ??

Raymond.:)

I didn't think a post-WWII line would be that popular but there are quite a few collecters on this forum alone that want this.Maybe the time has come.

I mentioned this on another thread, but I'd love to see a Predetor Drone with a flight crew! I'm sure the Isrealis are using them as well?

Hi Guys,

The above idea is one I have long considered… my own personal preference is for the 1967 “6 day War” and the 1973 “Yom Kippur” conflict.

In actual fact K&C designed some very nice Israeli Infantry a couple of years back but never got round to putting them into production. So… you never know… As someone else said… Never say never!

Merry Christmas,
Andy C.

We'll see them in January's Dispatch then? :D;)

Maybe the 1967 and 73 conflicts are far enough in the past for most of us to be able to appreciate some military historical miniatures from the period. Despite my preference for US armored vehicles, I think an Israeli modified Centurion would be impressive. By 1967 the Israelis had started putting 105mm guns in them, by 1973 they all had 105s and the US diesel engines making a good battle tank into one of the world's best at the time. There are several plastic models produced in the last few years that could help build the pilot models.

Andy,

Thanks. The Battle for the Old City of Jerusalem in 1967 with all the Biblical sites as a background can be a fascinating series. I think the Old City of Jerusalem has tremendous historical perspective for all religions. I hope you surprise us in 2010.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Not my cup of tea......I draw the line at 1945 and anything above that....nothing modern....I find modern war's not that interesting!!!!!!!just my opinion......

YES!

Hope to see a modified/upgraded M4A3E8 Sherman,M3 Halftrack, and the "Eisenhower" Jeep to start with.

Thanks Andy for even thinking about it.

The Israeli ti-67 (Upgunned T-55) would be great for the Yom Kippur War.

Well it wouldn't be something I would be interested in buying but then I draw the line for that at 1815 with a small foray into 1879. Nonetheless, I must admit it would be interesting to see. There is certainly no shortage of excellent Israeli military hardware and figures to chose from. Those Israeli Centurions would be cool. Oops I'd better be careful I guess since if Gary can buy an aircraft...............:D
