Now that Britains are issuing the Limited Edition Standard Party of the Scots Dragoon Guards I was hoping we might see a few sets to accompany them in the Redcoats range? The ceremonial range is all well & good but just doesn't have the details & paint work of the Redcoats,

Here are the top ten mounted figures id like to see:

1) Scots Dragoon Guard - Kettle Drummer (Present Day)
2) Scots Dragoon Guard - Trooper (Present Day)
3) Scots Dragoon Guard - Farrier (Present Day)
4) Blues & Royals - Kettle Drummer (Present Day)
5) Blues & Royals - Trooper (Present Day)
6) Blues & Royals - Farrier (Present Day)
7) Lifeguards - Farrier (Present Day) (In proper bluecoat & black plume)
8) Lifeguards - Trooper in Winter Overcoat (1815)
9) Horseguard - Trooper in Winter Overcoat (1815)
10) 18th Hussars - Trumpeter (1854)

What would you guys like to see made?

Craig

Id like to see them all in a marching pose as if on parade, or with the ones in Winter Overcoats maybe they could be stood to attention like outside Horseguards?

Craig

Any of the old mounted bands would be nice - preferably with some of the older instruments - like the bombardon included.
Lifeguards, Blues & Royals asd Royal Scots Greys - with at least a dozen instruments each would do - for a start for me.

I like the idea of the older instruments being used would love a blues & royals band in 1815

Hi again

I'm going from memory here, 'cos I don't have my books with me at the moment, but seem to recall that Britains once did a set where half the figures wore the Albert helmet - and half the Romanesque one. Something to do with Vickie's diamond jubilee knees up?

How about a small set with the correct coatee and curiasse with the Romanesque helmet? I'd better stop - 'cos I'm dribbling!

Well - I'd buy some! Is anyone from present day Britains likely to read this????

Absolutely, both Ken and Richard frequent the forum along with Wendy.

Great suggestions. i would like to see a Royal Tank Corps Band from 1918 or some Hussars and Lancers in Turn of the Century Uniforms (1900).

Well - good-oh! to that bit of info britfarmer.
I'm so pleased that major manufacturers are interested in what collectors think - and actually want to buy. I have been buying and converting castings (not always authentically, perhaps), because I love Victorian/Edwardian bands. Some of the older Britains are either unavailable now - or are out of pocket money reach for many of us.

Okay - it's great FUN to produce things that look something like what was produced 100 years ago - BUT if they remade some of them, I would definitely be tempted to have a few (if only to copy from! - Ooops!)

I'll start writing my note to Santa now then. I just love Britains old bands. The more colourful and unusual - the better for me. I'm afraid I don't know the three names mentioned - but assume they are from Britains - if so - produce the ones mentioned - and you have at least one customer waiting called - johnnybach

Well, I am a soft touch when it comes to the period between 1740 to 1840. I would love to do a few from this long but interesting span to add to my own collection.
The figures in cloaks or greatcoats for 1815 would work well with the event, club and issue figures released to date.
I personally think some of the great uniforms from the 1820s and 30s are also under represented.
I think a few of the items on your top ten might make it sooner or later.
All the Best,
Ken

That's great to here Ken I'm really falling in love with the early 1800's era & would love to see more glossys added to it espesially mounted & I'm really enjoying seeing any redcoat figure that comes out wearing a greatgoat like the new lifeguard in the xmas set!!!

I know I keep going on recently with new ideas but it would be nice to see in the future the mounted Royal Colonel's from the guards regiment's,

Blues & Royals - HRH The Princess Royal,
Grenadier Guards - HRH The Duke of Edinburgh,
Scots Guards - HRH The Duke of Kent,
Welsh Guards - HRH The Prince of Wales,
maybe a new version of the Queen in her Guards Uniform?

Good suggestions Craig although not crazy about the last one, she hasn't ridden since the 80's so that one could wait a bit. :)

I think a Blues & Royals trumpeter would also be a nice addition. (Present day)

Yes I did think the same was it 86 the last time she rode? & totally agree a Blues & Royals trumpeter would be good!

Yes you did - I haven't been around long on this forum - and I must admit that its an eye-opener. Lots of producers I dont know.

I have a few mounted Household Cavalry from a UK company called Asset - run by Colin & Ann Randall - which are very good. I've been trying to persuade them to do a mounted band - but no luck yet. When I get back to my collection - I'll try to put them on here - unless someone else can show you some first.
