New Normandy Dio!! (1 Viewer)

A fantastic scenic Sammy and David. :salute::

I've engaged David to build an East Front version of this. After seeing these pictures I'm looking even more forward to this project.

Also thanks for the kind words Gebs, I'm holding out on the Normandy First Legion Armor right now, as I'm sure all in time we will see some great releases for this range but I do like the Figarti Tiger, we'll see, hell I would be happy with a jeep and some accessories for my Paras but a Sherman would look delicious in those hedge rows :)...Sammy

Hi Sammy,
My Pleasure, Dave is a real Master Craftsman :salute:::salute::...
I'm with ya and holding out as well. I have the two Stugs & Panzer III for Stalingrad and two of the three are now sold out, So somebody besides us are buying these babies :wink2:. I'm really excited to see what First Legion will produce for Normandy, I'm hoping for a BIG CAT ^&grin. I'm also really wondering what the price tag will be for the big boys, Its all speculation at this point but I'd hope its under 300{sm4} hey we can hope right.. best Gebhard

Thanks for the compliments Frank, just wish I had your skill at hiding bases, shadows etc...I really look forward to your new project with David and with your photography I'm sure it's going to be absolutely stunning, any word when it will be ready??

Thanks again Gebs, I to would love to see a big cat but at this time a Normandy Hanomag/ transport vehicles would be lovely as well, I'll take whatever comes our way :)...Sammy

Glad to see your diorama made it safe. It really is superb and very inspiring. Gave me a lot of ideas when I saw it in the flesh in June.

Hello Joe, thanks for the comments, and I look forward to your Castle Wall photos, was the castle in the toy soldier collector magazine awhile back?? I know David has done some great castles/walls for a few collectors and they look spectacular!!

Hi Sammy,
Sorry for the slow reply. David has now done two different castle wall dioramas for me. The first was a crumbling Crusader wall. I shared pics of it here and on the HB forum. I'm not sure if pics of it appeared in the TS collector mag. I know David made more than one of the Crusader walls though. I saw pics of his first one here on the forum because of the many kind Treefroggers from across the pond who posted pics from the London show that David debuted the wall set at with FL Crusaders placed on it. (No one covers a show like our friends from across the pond btw- thank you guys!) I saw the pics and just had to have one! I absolutely love the Crusader wall David made for me. Recently he completed an entirely different castle wall diorama for me that I promise to share pics of soon. I have just been too busy lately to set it up, have a little fun with it, and try to take some presentable photos, but I promise to do it soon. He actually used this new dio he made for me as a display at the last London, so you've probably already seen a pic or two of it here from the perennially superb London show coverage.

I'm looking forward to seeing FL release some Normandy armor as well. I know whatever they produce will look great, but I'm curious to see the pricing. For now a Figarti Sherman or Tiger would look fantastic in your hedgerows! I love your Normandy dio and how you can expand upon it if you so wish.

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe, yes now that I recall I do remember seeing your castle wall awhile back it was a killer looking piece that many talked about, I can't wait to see your new Castle wall, will it match up with your previous one??

As far as armor, I do have the Winter Figarti Tiger ordered, but nothing as of yet for Normandy, I had a email chat with Matt and his assurance all in due time for Normandy, this grasshopper sometimes gets impatient :) but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!!...Sammy

Hi Sammy,

The new castle wall doesn't match up with the earlier one. The first diorama is a Middle East or Mediterranean type sun-baked structure that is collapsing upon itself. The second diorama looks more like something from England, Scotland or Ireland. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. I was planning on shooting some pics of it w/ FL Agincourt figures, but I haven't been able to pick any of those up just yet.

Congrats on your forthcoming Figarti acquisition; their new winter Tiger looks great! I'm sure it will be very popular. I might pick it up too, especially since it seems that Figarti's paint issues are a thing of the past, and also because of the fact that I've moved away from other manufacturer's AFV's that I once collected. I know what you mean about feeling a bit impatient sometimes when you know something is in the pipeline from a range you collect. But like you said, I'm sure the FL Normandy armor will be well worth the wait. The few pieces of FL armor I've seen in person were very, very nice.

Joe

I could have a lot of fun with this dio. David does such phenomenal work. Congrats on a great dio Sammy.
