A glider sounds very interesting. It would be a bit odd if it was just a tail as the Waco CG4A opened from the front for loading and unloading.
By the way, not to rain on anything, but remember that the "glider riders" didn't get the cool M1942 jump uniform. For Normandy (Opn Neptune) the glider troops wore the same wool uniform/field jacket as the seaborne infantry. A few may have gotten a hold of some items of airborne kit, but the glider troopers didn't have a special uniform. In Market Garden the general issue of M1943 pants and jackets made all the troops look very similar, especially when glidermen added the big pockets to the pant legs.
