NEW RELEASE SNEAK PEEK: PERSHING TANK

If only the Pershing had been fielded 6 months earlier, how many American lives would have been saved? The choice of attrition and sheer practicality in manufacturing trumped the US Army's motivation to field a heavy tank far too long. Could of, would have, should have: the bottom line is the Pershing tank would have been a real a game changer early on. Contrary to myth that the Pershing didn't see combat, it surely did. The Pershing racked up an impressive number of kills before wars end. One such notable combat was captured beautifully on the cine camera in the city of Koln in 45' towards the wars end.

TCS Brings forth this beast in glorious 1/30th scale. Complete with open and closed hatch options, two tankers and excellent weathering. We've even created a set of riders that fit perfectly on our Pershing or our Sherman. The riders come with removable bases so they maintain that TCS flexibility. This is a real limited edition and no doubt will go the way of all great TCS AFV's: to sell out. This, our new 101st sets and a host of other additions are scheduled to be released at the end of October. So enjoy!

Tally hooo!

Interesting release. I prefer the winter version myself

It's about time someone produced this tank aside from FOV.

Congratulations Brian.

Will you be showing a prototype at the Chicago show this week?

Great looking model but I don't think the Pershing arrived in the ETO until after the Bulge, one of its first combats was seizing the bridge at Remagen. The winter version would be suitable for the US Marines in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign in Korea

Interesting point you made isn't it? Chosin Reservoir with winter marines...interesting. Imagine having a T34/85 tank in the background. Weren't the Chinese winter uniforms similar to the Russians. Oops, I forgot, its the "Forgotten War". There's probably not enough interest is there?

The first 20 Pershings arrived in Europe in January 1945 and only 20 were in combat. The first engagement was February 25 at the Roer River at Emsdorf. The 2nd combat was a few days later at Cologne, a short distance to the east. The 3rd and final engagement was on March 7-8, 1945 at Remagen just south of Cologne.

I have heard other manufacturers cite their sparse fighting record as the reason they didn't make the tank.

I would love to see Korean War items. As you say a "forgotten" era - there might be more interest out there - you never know. Britains are bringing out a US Marine at Chosin which I intend to pair up with my FOV Pershing but that figure will be a bit on the small side compared with CS's Pershing. The tank is certainly a nice looking model though. Be interesting to get feedback on it from the guys attending Chicago next week.

Would love to have it, but as with all CS releases, I would need to see it next to my CS Panther and Sherman for fit...Will wait till compare photos are available..PS..NOTE THAT IT WAS THIS TANKS ANTENNA WE SAW IN THE GLIDER RELEASE PHOTO...Michael

agree. if only CS would actually do the 1/30th thing I would be buying all their armour regardless of what it was. I am tempted to buy this along with the new jeep and glider section I have ordered just as a stand alone piece (I am sure it will be 1/28th though a few of K&C's latest releases are creeping that way also and has not been mentioned by many!! so, it may be time for manufacturers to get this sorted and stop the creep to other scales!!). Track detail and wheels are really good.

Congrats to TCS......Brian you are doing a great job with interesting offerings, good size and crisp detail. I am opening the Panther as we speak and it looks excellent. I will bring it downstairs and check its size next to other manufacturers but it looks BIG so it can be properly used with K&C, Figarti and TGM figures. The turret is a bit loose and sits down low, so it is hard to turn, but a little cardboard spacer will fix that. I am very busy but I will see if I can get a pic and start a thread on the Panther.

Interest here, but doubt if there will be any winter marines ever. The K&C Marines could substitute for Inchon warmer themes OK...the only thing you need to overlook is the Thompson SMG.

I'd actually be in on the Pershing if we could get some of 'The Chosin few' to go with it. I think that is an excellent way to widen the appeal of both the Pershing and the "Forgotten War". :wink2: -- Al
