New Releases For January 2013 - Part Two (1 Viewer)

WOW !!

What a great year ahead for JJD Colletcors of all eras :)

My definite buy is the first of the 3 facades for the Battle of Luthen .

My Prussian Grenadiers are currently gathering numbers and rushing over the snow.... with nowhere to go!!

In my 'wish list' are the 2 Monks, to join the first couple of Guerillas oposing the invading French and maybe the pack animals who can go with either side of that conflict.

Well Done John!

Roll on 2013 and even more wonderful figures and equipment to come :)

Excellent releases, as Brad says a surprise to see the ACW, suddenly its in vogue!

Have just reserved my first JJ purchase for the London show in March, such good products I can't resist any more :redface2:{bravo}}

Since John is now doing Civil War I hopes he does some black troops of the USCT. The only makers that have done black troops that I know of are Trophy, Aeroart and Ted Toy.

In my opinion you cannot have a Civil War range unless you have black troops as they made a significant contribution to the war effort.

Is John doing a Civil War line or is this a one off? A lot of great stuff, but it really is all over the place these days.

Thanks John & Mike, pack horses & Naval figures are on my growing list, cheers, Robin.

The Jenkins family certainly has an interesting family tree.

The new plane my favourite of all the JJ planes so far. Great colour.

White pants for summer and sky blue for winter season uniform. Much like the Navy had light and dark uniforms depending on season or climate.

By starting his ACW series with U.S. Marines, You have to wonder if John will be focused on producing Navy subjects of that war. As far as I know, no one is portraying that important aspect of the conflict.

It would be just like Mr. Jenkins to do an interesting subject that up to now is ignored by most other makers.^&cool

Good for you, Rob. IMO the JJD SE-5 is the best WW1 aircraft currently on the market and that is saying a lot from my point of view because I am very enthusiastic about all the JJD WW1 aircraft. The SE-5 is just unsurpassed for detail and a realistic look. Good choice and I'm sure you will like it a great deal. -- Al

After the initial puzzlement over yesterday releases, going "marine" and possibly naval makes sense. But are any of the eras naval vessels small enough to make sense at our scale, 4 inches = 10 feet?

Thanks Al ! Can't wait to get it as it looks superb. And now I've had the thumbs up from a WW1 expert as your good self I know its a winner!{bravo}} Once I've got the SE5 I'm going after one of them thar Sopwith babies. They too look fantastic.

My darling better half has just given up a display case in the dining room for my Toy Army Workshop collection that I installed in it on Sunday (she's allowed it as she really likes the TAW figs^&grin) Anyway there is a nice bit of space on top of it that will be just perfect for the SE5{bravo}} (TAW pics up in about an hour Al)

Cheers mate

Maybe John has something big planned, like a ship. After all, Trophy made them, why not John? The Marine set reminds me of Trophy's Eagle Add On Set.

Wouldn't it be fabulous if he made something like the Eagle. I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap but I'll bet it would have a lot of appeal.

Maybe not an entire vessel, but I could image John doing a big pivot gun and crew in action from the deck of the CSS Alabama or USS Kearsarge for example. Or just the guns and crew in action from the turret of the USS Monitor.

The torpedo armed steam launch that Cushing used to sink the CSS Albemarle in Oct., 1864, would be right up JJD's alley.:wink2:^&cool -- Al

Like others I wonder what the ACW series will bring us in the future. Just navy or more general stuff? Curious experiment with the 2 and 4 figure sets too have you noticed the price differences?
