It would be nice to know and also his schedule of WWI planes, but most toy soldier manufacturers don't disclose this information in advance. I think that's a misplaced concern about others stealing their "ideas." In reality there are a finite number of items to be produced from any historical era. So they are just deciding what to produce from among those options. And it's really hard for collectors to make informed judgments on what to buy if you don't know what's going to be available.
The Sudan series seems to be taking a back seat with no new sets for June. A very slow and small number of releases mostly of the Gordon firing line and still no new enemy figures. We are seeing more of the SCW and WWI which I guess are selling better than the Sudan. The Sudan could use a little excitement.

Certainly feel Sudan needs a shot in the arm, especially as it appears it has become a bi-monthly release. Cheers, Robin.
Back in the day I seem to remember JJD doing series on the Jacobite Rebellion. :rolleyes2: They were pretty nice too.
I can't believe there still haven’t been any Mahdist releases yet! Did any of the other ranges that John produced have one side released first or was it spread evenly between both sides?

As much as it pains me, I have to report that the new LvR yellow triplane has incorrect cross markings. The crosses should be the older Maltese cross pattern, with a thin white outline. Tripe #454/17 was wrecked in a combat related crash on 3-13-18. The HQ order to change German aircraft crosses to the straight edge design wasn't even issued until 3-17-18. Several photos of the wrecked #454/17 exsist showing the Maltese cross pattern on the plane. Hope it can be corrected before issue. -- AlMore outstanding releases. The AC is quite an impressive choice. I am, of course, thrilled with the release of the Lothar von Richthofen figure and tripe. The tripe looks to be very accurate although I wish there was a photo of the underside and the choice of color chosen for it, (should be an almost light turquoise blue). Like I said elsewhere, one can never have enough Fokker Triplanes.:wink2: -- Al

I was really just wishing it could b corrected, didn't really believe it could. The striped pattern on the fuselage is actually more accurate as the camo was factory applied by hand with a paint brush. The brush would be dipped in the paint and then applied in a sort of diagonal stripping until the brush was dry and then it would be redipped and repeated. This resulted in a strong stripe the first stroke and would fade as the brush went dry. So the stripes could be very prominent or very faded. Colors used were described as anything from an olive green to olive brown or a grayish brown, all applied over a light turquoise blue base. -- AlNice catch. I doubt that can be corrected if they are shipped for June. I can't find the pictures from the show where this was first shown. Wonder if it had the same error? Here is a nice illustration: http://www.fokkerdr1.com/Profiles/Profile_BP7.htm
You can also see more of a striped pattern on the fuselage in that drawing although that be based on speculation.

Thanks for finding these pictures. The underside blue looks right. Don't know how I didn't catch the cross mistake back then. Should have.:redface2: -- AlIf you look at the original phots posted on the forum, it looks as though the underside is a light blue: http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?25625-New-JJD-WW1-Aircraft
