New Releases for June 2018 - The 18th Century Collection (2 Viewers)

I was just looking through all the June releases again. This seems like the largest batch of JJ releases I can ever remember. That is sort of good news, bad news. A lot of great choices, but I wonder what the total cost would be if you ordered one of everything this month? The Japanese carrier decking alone is over $1K. Add in a new WWI plane, the new Saratoga line etc. Expensive month.

Quick Update! It appears the photos for SVSP-03 and SVRH-03 were switched! The are now corrected as follows:

Figures with the Red Facings:
SVSP-03.jpg
SVSP-03
DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK,
THE BATTLE OF SARATOGA 1777,
BRUNSWICK GRENADIERS,
THE VON SPECHT REGIMENT,
2 GRENADIERS.

Figures with the White Facings:

SVRH-03
DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK,
THE BATTLE OF SARATOGA 1777,
BRUNSWICK GRENADIERS,
THE VON RHETZ REGIMENT,

YES .. could be quite an expensive (few) months.
Brings to mind the Thomas Paine expression ... "These are times that try men's souls."

OR .. maybe a bit more apt ... "These are the times that try men's wallets" :redface2:

Just realized that in 11 days it will be Father's Day . . . . My three adult children always get me TF gift certificates for special occasions and celebrations . . . That will take a little bit of the sting away which is good since I have pre-ordered many items from John's June releases . . .

Would the indians released for the Jenkins FIW ranges be ok or close enough to be used with the Saratoga range?
Looking forward to see this range develope...

Yes. Native warriors played an important role in the campaign, principally as scouts and skirmishers for the British forces. The only ones that might look a little out of place would be Natives wearing uniforms from the FIW.

Brendan beat me to it, but I agree that the JJD indians (RSF series) would be a fine addition to the scene.

Bottom line ALWAYS is .. "They are your TOY SOLDIERS and you can do with them as you wish and whatever gives you the greatest amount of enjoyment."

I would think that even the Indians wearing a FIW jacket would be fine. It could have been passed down from father to son. I don't know for sure though. I mix mine in and it looks good to me.

I read 'Rabble in Arms' when I was a boy, this was one of my dad's books. I still remember that it was an Italian translation of 1945, the Italian title was 'Canaglia in armi'. I was highly fascinated by Roberts' novel (as well as the other book 'Northwest Passage') and since then I have always loved the American Frontier era. In the Roberts book the Indians and the German Mercenaries have a prominent place. Great novels of my childhood!

Just following along with the thread on the Battle of Saratoga and I am planning on purchasing the Brunswick Grenadiers.
Anybody here ordered or received either the two sets? If so, can anybody share or comment about the sets. Thank you. :smile2:

I bought three sets (PPI refund) - the 2nd New York: Morgan Rifles and the Von Rhetz regt(striped breeches) and I am very satisfied. I can only compare the Brunswickers to the SYW Prussians by JJD and they are an improvement - slighter anatomy and I will buy more - thankfully no releases this month.

This is going to be a great series and can be expanded to other battles of the American Revolution.
More American Regiments, officers, drummers, flag bearers and personality figures are in the works.
John is also planning on adding some British Regiments and more scenics.

I got these two Morgan guys willing to display them with the K&C Militia, it seems to me that they go well together.
I love both the kind of sculpture.

Thanks Carlo,
They do go together well. I wonder if the JJD AWI figures will also go well with K&C British and Hessians.
I only have the JJD sets and think they are great, looking forward to more releases.

I ordered a couple of German Grenadiers and they are coming, me too I wonder the same thing. I will take some pictures.
