NEW RELEASES FOR MARCH 2018
THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY COLLECTION
DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK

Walter D. Edmonds wrote about the area of upstate New York, and detailed the lives of pioneer farmers along the Mohawk River during the American Revolution.

Edmonds wrote "The Matchlock Gun," which was about a 10-year-old boy defending his home against Indians in colonial New York, and won the Newbery Medal for Children's Literature in 1942.
He also wrote about four women captives of Indians in 1778 in his 1947 book "In the Hands of the Senecas,"
Edmonds' books are considered the richest body of fiction about the time and region since the works of James Fenimore Cooper.

The initial sets for this series will include militia, wagoneers, and more girls with guns, all suitable for the American Revolution and French and Indian War periods.

The following sets are ideal as “Wagoneers” to accompany any of the French And Indian War Wagons and carts, as well as accompanying the regular troops at the Battle of Bushy Run.

The series will also attempt to cover probably the most significant battle of the American Revolution.

The two Battles of Saratoga were a turning point in the American Revolution. On September 19th, British General John Burgoyne achieved a small, but costly victory over American forces led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. Though his troop strength had been weakened, Burgoyne again attacked the Americans at Bemis Heights on October 7th, but this time was defeated and forced to retreat. He surrendered ten days later, and the American victory convinced the French government to formally recognize the colonist’s cause and enter the war as their ally.

I am so excited by this new range. I like that we can expand our civilian population. The animation in the poses are fantastic.

These figures can be used for the FIW and AWI......great series!

Very tempting for me to collect . . . .

Thank Goodness ... FINALLY some Militia for the AWI collectors.
John, you really have outdone yourself on these ...... new sets. Magnificent.

Great blend of poses from "combat" to "rest", great sculpting and color selection along with the detail of each figure.

Looking forward to bolstering my Continental Army with these Militia and follow on sets .... THANK YOU!!^&grin

Very nice figures. I would love to get some but I don’t think I have the space for a new range.

Maybe the young boys are Little Julie’s buds ^&grin

Yes, what Larry said! Needless to say..........I am in too!!!!

Wow! Love those militia figures. Consider my income tax refund already spent.

Placing my order now.

Mark

Yes I think I need to be a part of this range too, very nice John. Robin.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that thought

Mark

They look good Mark, so I find if you are going to get into a new series, it is easier to start on the ground floor before the numbers/expense becomes too daunting. You sneak up on it this way, so the 4 releases and the wagon have already been ordered thru my dealer. Robin.

Morning Robin, .. Wagon? :rolleyes2:

Do you mean the BAL-10 CONESTOGA WAGON?

--- LaRRy

I was going to buy the Conestoga wagon to go with these wagoneers. However, I think I'll bide my time and hope that John makes a wagon similar to the one that K&C did a few years ago.

Ah yes. Larry passed on it when it was first released, but now the there are 4 wagon handlers, well that changes things. The last thing I need is a new series to collect, but John has made it tantalising with more woman with guns!!! So this new series coded 'DAM' seems I am dammed if I do or dammed if I don't.{sm4} Have some AWI figures from K&C so these should go nicely with those. Can't be all about US Marines:wink2: Robin.

Same here, Robin. So many incredible items appeared at the time the BAL-10 came out .. I had to hold off.
As you mentioned, with all the new JJD Handlers and other the sets, it makes it more of a "need" to acquire the BAL wagon.

....."Can't be all about US Marines. :wink2: Robin" .....

Well .. :rolleyes2: .... hummmmm .. ... ya' well ... okay ... maybe, possibly you are right.
But you know my AWI affection, ... AND ... John's latest Militia and Civilian sets are incredible so I am pretty sure they will be joining the "CAUSE" along side my other AWI sets.

Ah yes Robin . . . Girls with guns. In anticipation of jumping in on this DAM range, yesterday I ordered JJD RFB-05B "Girls with Guns #2" . . . . I know these "girls" are from the Raid on St. Francis series but I bet they will look smart with the new DAM figures . . . Thought about getting the Conastoga wagon too, however, I see that the horse teams used for it are now retired and hard to find.

Mike to put the acid on you, Rodney's Dimestore has 4 sets available and you only need 3 to fit the picture shown with the figure release with the wagon.;)^&grin. I have those girls currently with my Western theme, nice. Robin.

You need to do it Mark mate, I took the plunge last year and grabbed a few JJD FIW sets last year and haven't looked back.

The FIW range display so well and you don't need a truck load to create a memorable scene.:salute::
