I was a tad circumspect in regard to the covers over those bays, as they didn't appear to mount flush with the surrounding surface. However, I found that I could get the pieces where I wanted by pressing them down with my thumbs.
The landing gear attaches simply but sturdily with a magnet and pin, and there is a second set of landing gear in the up position so you can display the aircraft in flight. The flaps move, and the cockpit canopy slides open and closed.
Seems I recall that a Figarti model used the magnets, the Stuka, perhaps. I likewise recall that it was considered kind of cheezy at the time, and there was some concern that the magnets didn't adequately hold the landing-gear struts in place. No problem in the instance, in that those magnets are STRONG. In fact, I had to work a bit at unseating the gear to put the "wheels-up" set in for mounting on a stand:
Louis and Moe, you guys got a couple of fantastic looking Wildcats. Thanks for posting the pics and congratulations on the new additions.:salute:: -- Al
