New series sneak preview (2 Viewers)

Slought hats..only in South Africa......no were seen on the other theaters....

Hi Guys
Pictures below of a new sculpt for a new series we have been developing here at TG. 'The last request' features a wounded soldier being comforted by a comrade who listens to his dying words. Could be anywhere in Queen Victoria's empire but does anybody want to hazard a guess as to where the action for this scene is taking place?

OK second clue as its the second day! These guys are from the Seaforth Highlanders, they fought in Sudan, Afghanistan and South Africa so most of you could actually be correct. Below is a picture of 'The Marksman' who is also from this series. Final picture of the enemy to appear tomorrow!

I'm also thinking Second Boer War considering the slouch hat on the sniper figure, earlier conflicts they all wore Pith hat/helmet I'd say.

Hi Guys this is the third clue for the third day, pretty conclusive that this is now going to be a Boer war series initially. Thank you for all of you who input your thoughts, its been really good fun reading everybody's comments. There will be 9 x Seaforth Highlanders to begin with plus around 6 Boers over a couple of releases. These figures are 60mm and will therefore not fit in with the current SFA range, because of this there will also be new Zulus to fit into this range as well as some Zulus for the SFA range coming soon.

Do you contemplate a Churchill figure down the line? Hope so.

The Boer war it is. I really like what you’ve done so far TGM.
I second Jazzeum’s request for a Winston Churchill figure. There is a very interesting photo of Churchill in South Africa wearing an army tunic and a beat up slouch hat.

Churchill is on the list as well as Breaker Morant - how could we leave those 2 out?!!!!

Here are a couple of photos. I don’t know if any of these are the one The Breaker had in mind.

Just wondering - about the make of rifle he is holding - it almost looks like some type of Winchester? also, any idea now of when we can expect the first of these 2nd Boer War figures to be released. Many thanks :)

TGM can answer more accurately, but it looks like a Mannlicher M1888 rifle.

Thank you Breaker - it was the tip of the rifle that made me ask. It just did not look like a Mauser or Mannlicher etc.

It is a lovely sculpt :salute:: Looking forward to it's release.

I agree there should be the end of the barrel and cleaning rod sticking out there if it is a Mannlicher M1888. It could be other rifles with a muzzle band. I think there was an earlier Mauser and a later Mannlicher that had that muzzle band that would give it that look.

Very nice. It’s gotta be the Boer War.
How about a figure of Harry “The Breaker” Morant- Bushveldt Carbineers?

Have you seen the figures made by the late Craig Pearse of Wilson Edwards Toy Solders ???

I believe the sculpts were by the late Allan Caton.

Hi John,
Has there been any movement by Craig´s sons or brother towards releasing once again the Wilson Edwards Series?
It would be so sad if all those incredible molds were lost ......
Our NZ friends ( International Toy Soldiers or Fleurbaix ) could make a move and take them over any maybe generate some business out of them....
Cheers
Luiz
