Hi all,

just wanted to throw this out there, I plain and simple love the older retired pieces (WWII stuff) don't get me wrong I also collect alot of the new stuff, but like the older paras, vehicles, Krupp truck, Puma, Hellcat, the 88s, and on and on there is something about the look of alot of older stuff that is just spot on, slowly and surely over my 3 years of collecting I have picked up some of these guys and look forward to finding more, I guess I'm just a ol' school guy :):):)...Sammy

Nothing wrong with beening old school. I have found I prefer some of the older pieces. There is something about them that just seems right.

Agree with both of you, the older stuff was generally made in smaller quantities and is pretty cool. It is more unique and rough in a good sort of way. I still love my dd9, dd7, dd10 vehicles, they are just neat in my book.

Yes the older stuff is nice. I have alot of older plus newer so its all good.

I generally prefer the newer pieces, but some of the older ones have a character that the new ones don't have. And if I chose my 10 favourite K&C pieces, about half of them would be older pieces.

Interesting question. I would say I definitely prefer the newer, improved versions. I have collected KC for many years and HAD many of the older issues. These have been sold or traded over the years for the newer, more detailed, and correct scale issues. For example, I don't care how good a vehicle looks or how rare it is, if it is undersized or inaccurately painted, I will upgrade it where possible. The newer figures are far superior to the early ones in sculpting and painting, so the older ones are now gone. Now, I realize getting rid of the older issues is a sin to most collectors but space and money make this a collecting plan I have to follow. Heck, if I had unlimited money and space, I would buy and keep it all.:D -- lancer

Well said. I agree with you gentlemen. I would add that I usually prefer the newer pieces due to their better sculpts and painting however some of the older pieces have not been updated yet and so I still like them a lot ( until maybe the new and improved version comes along ). The really old pieces from the late 90's and early 00's are generally not my cup of tea.

I have a little of both....some of the older items are excellent...but in general the newer items especially the figures are greatly improved.

I have only started to collect the AFV'S because of the new tracks. The older ones looked not right to me.But I do have the M5 Stuart with the old style tracks and must say I am glad I have it.Simmo.

Too difficult to call this one.A lot of the old stuff is classic K&C in my view,Normandy 88,Hellcat,Jagdpanther etc.But the newer stuff is just as good so its a happy mix for me.The quality gets better all the time but at the same time the older stuff is so good that it still stands up,the 88 is a very good example of this.

For me
I wish K & C would revisit their French voltigeurs and king German legion light battalion sets, like they have with the Old guards and the Grenadiers.
A few more skirmishing figures, like moving forward seeking cover and standing loading figure for the french Voltigeurs and of course dead and dying.

For the KGL dead and dying with an fighting officer would complete this set nicely.

So yes , i would say i prefer the older sets at the moment. But that French howitzer is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Very best wishes Mark.
