The early Tigers including the ones that went to Leningrad were grey and first went into action 29 August 1942. They were given a whitewashed camo pattern that winter. 3 colour camo had not yet been introduced.

Based on the initial pictures I have seen of the K&C Tiger, which I quite like, the inspiration is Tiger 111 of 1./s.H.Pz.Abt.502 during January of 1943. On January 24 1943 Tiger 111 became bogged down near Mga and was recovered after 3 days of effort. In February 1943 the units 5 Tigers were renumbered 1-5. Tiger 111 became Tiger 2. The only inconsistency is the Tiger stowage bin which on the real 111 was a Pz.III stowage bin.

I'm willing to overlook the bin problem to get a grey Leningrad tiger with whitewash. I hope Andy puts the Pz.Abt.502 mamoth symbol on the final version.

This tank is a definite purchase for me. I've been waiting a long time for this beast.

In this piece Andy has responded to two often requested versions of the Tiger, "grey" and "winter", in a single release. Now that's efficient. :)

So true! :D Its a nice piece. I must admit though I'm Tigered out with all the rivet counting and other historical minutia that goes on on this forum about this particular AFV. However I'll likely end up with this version :eek: , but I'd still like a Normandy or Arnhem version in Tri colour camo or ambush camo in the future.
 
I painted five kursk tigers recently for a collector who wanted them repainted grey and whitewashed for Leningrad and the actions around lake ladoga (I posted some pics on the forum) so, quite glad K&C steered away from whitewash version. Its from the pics a very good looking tank with great crew. Only a small reservation would be the two kit bags on the side fenders.

I have also just been looking up Tigers for this release and agree about the rear bin but, don't think many will worry over that. I think there will still be calls for a grey variant or, a grey with worn whitewash

I really like the look of this gray and white camo Tiger. I will attempt to own one and it will be my first winter vehicle. Don't much care for the boring all white camo of most winter vehicles, but this two color scheme is quite attractive. Don't care about the storage compartment, it is just a great looking vehicle. -- Al
 
Congratulations on a great model.

An overused phrase on here (especially recently) but "a simple must have".
