Hi,
I just joined the forum and thought I should introduce myself. I am a technophobe and have never done this before so if I should do something impolite please forgive me as this is new. I collected GI Joe's for a number of years and that hobby some how ended up with collecting Toy Soldiers. Mainly, it took up less space and that made the wife happy. My area of interest is 19th century British Imperialism. I collect most manufacturer's including Conte, Trophy, Imperial, Little Legion and Britains both matte and gloss. Primary subjects are the Indian Mutiny, Isandlwana, and the Sudan and Afghan campaigns. I read most of the books on the period from Ian Knight and Mike Snook as well as a decent collection of Osprey. I have started casting some of my own figures and making various figures from other kits. I hope to learn a lot from the forum as my painting leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for having me,
John

Warmest personal regards,

Mark,
I just got a set of Dervishes from Manes Marzano. Excellent figures. I'm probably going to hold off on the Sudan as I want some of the new 24th Foot figures coming out from Conte, Britains and Little Legion. On the casting side, I'm working on the Boxer Rebellion. I picked up a couple of East of India sets and I needed some Boxer's to go along with them. I got some castings from Wilson Edwards. The service was fantastic and the castings are really clean and detailed. I definately want to try their painted figures next. I have to stop branching out but some of the sets are just too good to resist.

Thanks,
John

I am new here also, posted a couple items a few days ago under casting and sculpting, my main areas of interest. I'm hoping to start building a nice collection myself, but the casting/sculpting eats up most of my time and even more of my money:confused: In any case. all the great photos here are very inspirational. I'm looking forward to attending the Indiana Toy Soldier show in April, as that is where I live, so I can lay my beady little eyes on some of these goodies in person.

Hello All!

I am new to this board as well. Great forum! I found your site while trying to locate some items to complete my collection of HO scale Battlefield Vacuform dioramas made in the 1960s-1970's by Power Play/Mainstream & Bellona, both of England.

Is this site only related to 1/32 & 1/30 scale or does it encompass smaller HO/00 & 1/72 scales too?

I collect & sell many 1/32 WW2 & Modern era figures, vehicles & aircraft, plastic & diecast.

If anyone has any photos or info that might help me locate some of the larger plastic vacuform battlefield sets from the previously mentioned companies I would greatly appreciate it!! :)

Cheers, Matt
