:) HELLO GUY'S! I spoke with the Owner of ADMIRAL TOY COMPANY in USA, and he told me that he's Interested in making the WW2 " HORSA and WACO Glider Airplanes and a C-47! Large Size, possible close to Andy's OLD Mahogany Planes, in the Past! But it will be made of Metal, and Heavy Plastic; and the Wings will be able to be Detachable! Also, he's going to make make WW2 ARMOR and VEHICLES, in 1/30th Scale size! I will keep you Guy's Informed soon!

John,

Why don't you mention the Forum to him. I don't think I'd be interested in metal and plastic planes but I'm sure we'd all like to see what he otherwise has in mind.

Thank you jazzeum. we don't need five and dime junk.

I'm always open to new suppliers. Even some "five and dime junk" can be made into good display models with a little love.

Please advise them not go the "Nazi" route (I see their 1/72nd tanks are German). Too many manufacturers play up the German stuff and ignore all the other participants. Balance, balance, balance!!!!

Doesn't look like 5&dime junk to me. Looks quite nice.

Admiral do make some great models. I said earlier that 1/72 scale has the largest share of the premade military model market - and it's still growing. Some may try to brush these little gems aside as being five and dime stuff but the fact is that most 1/72 diecast tanks have better detail than the larger K & C versions.

Binder is correct that there are currently to many German based tanks on the market in 1/72 premades. There is a wide scope of allied and axis soft skinned vehicles as well as allied tanks such as the Comet and Stuart that haven't been issued in 1/72 as yet.

For relatively new companies such as Admiral the secret for their succes will be producing models that the larger companies such as Dragon haven't made in 1/72 diecast. To my knowledge there hasn't even been a German 88 mm gun produced in 1/72 diecast as yet - so get stuck in guys :)

Btw, I'm not suggesting that 1/72 will take over as being the only scale to get as most collectors, including myself, like the size and weight of the larger 1/32 and 1/30 pieces. However as some members have already said, I just love this stuff, and I can always find shelf space for more models - especially if they're small :)

I have one of their 1/18 Sabre jets and really like the detail, for a new company they started out good. We shouldn't put them out of the picture and give them a chance.

I will definately be watching for Admiral to release some of these proposed tanks, especially if they stick with the weight of real die-cast. Unfortunately Dragon has lost alot of there die-cast content but continies to put out a very detailed product. As there prices increase though I will be keeping my eye on some of the new guys coming into the market place. Corgi produces some great tanks with die-cast weight to them but of course are in the odd 1/50 scale. I recently got the DD Sherman with exhaust stacks for $15. Well worth it for that price even though it has caused me to find another space to display it.
As far as the "five and dime" products I have plenty in my collection that are worth more as memories of growing up that I wouldn't trade for the world.

Hello Treefrog Members,

I was contacted by a member of this forum. I thought it would be a good idea to post some information regarding Admiral Toys Incorporated. I know at this time we do not produce models in the scale for which you collect, but as some have mentioned you never know what the future will bring.

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Jason, and I am General Counsel for Admiral Toys Incorporated, and currently acting President. Aside from providing the legal needs of the company, I also assist the company with research and development of our lines and am the liaison with our facilities in China. There is always a misnomer by many. They say they talked to the owner. We are a corporation, and therefore the stockholders own the company.

I appreciate the opportunity to speak with your forum members. Hopefully, I will be able to answer the members’ questions and give some informative news not yet on our website, www.admiraltoys.com . However, we do have a “news link” on our website that will keep you up to date on upcoming products and the status of current projects.

As mentioned, we primarily produce 1:72 scale armor and 1:18 scale aircraft. To answer one of the concerns posted on this forum regarding the number of German vehicles produced by manufacturers: Admiral Toys Incorporated offered the German Panzer series as our first offering for two reasons, (1) German armor sells. There is a reason all manufacturers have an abundant selection of German ground vehicles. (2) German armor sells, and no one has produced the whole line of Panzers in 1:72 scale.

The nice aspect of our 1:72 scale line is they are primarily constructed of true diecast. The tanks have a great weight.

The 1:18 scale are very accurate and have great form and function. For example, on the F-86E the leading edge slats open, the airbrakes open, the landing gear go up and down, the canopy opens, the stabilizers, rudder, flaps all move, and even the gun door that doubles as a step on the 1:1 works. I would not consider it “five and dime” construction.

As for your medium scale collectors, I have talked with the member above. However, you must understand the difference between “interested” and it is in production. We have our eyes on a new scale but that has not been released, as of yet. In the near future you may see a new scale from Admiral Toys Incorporated that is more of the size you are accustomed to collecting. But I guarantee that our first release will not be an obscure aircraft or such a large aircraft. It will have consumer familiarity. We would not launch a product in a new scale that is as abstract as a glider. Though it would be an impressive model.

Feel free to visit our site or post a reply to this thread. I turned off my private messaging, not because I do not care, but because I am very busy and am not sure when I will have time to respond. Plus it is nice to pose all question hear so that the rest of the members can read the response.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to coming back to this site soon.
Regards,
Jason

Jason,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the information regarding your company. It's interesting for me to learn about the process that manufacturers go through to provide products to the nut house, I' I' I' mean consumers. Sometimes I slip and become too honest.:D

I personally would welcome another "player" in this hobby. As a consumer (the nut referred to above), I like choices and I like variety. Options give me a sense of control over the direction I want my collection to go, not the direction a few manufacturers want it to go.;) Although I don't have that problem with anyone particular company, the future could bring that to reality.

More choices makes a happier collector. Best of luck in this corner of the business world.:)
