Well I guess no use waiting until September to start the new thread:) as I need some venue to vent as well!! it seems the Ravens have become the Santa of the NFL in recent years, in which it freely gives up 4-5 solid players every year:mad: I can NOT believe they strait out gave the 49'ers A. Boldin today^&confuse:confused:{eek3} without him there is no new SuperBowl trophy in Baltimore for 2012, past years it's been Heap, Mason, J. Johnson, B. Grubbs, K. Gregg, etc...and of course it's just starting in 2013, I'm sure Reed will be a Pat, Ellerbe will be a Brown, Kruger will be a Bengal and so on and so on, I know every team loses players here and there but it seems my Ravens live for it, how about once in awhile we keep a free agent just for giggles, while half the Steelers re-work thier contracts my boys just get the pink slip:mad:...Sammy

Boldin for a 6th round draft choice, traded to the 49ers, the same team his brother coaches.

Nothing suspicious going on there..............:rolleyes2:

If I was a Ravens fan, I'd be boiling mad over that one; a sixth round pick?

I hope the league investigates it and find wrong doing!!:) no, just the Ravens handing good talent away yet again, boling mad?? go check out any Raven message board they are blowing up right now!!! I don't care if there is a plan in place you just do not give up on a player like Boldin over 2 mill when money is being past out like free soup, tell E. Reed I said hello once he suits up for the Pats next season as the Ravens haven't even tried to contact him yet!!...Sammy

Looks like Pete and I will both be crying in our beer as I see the Vikings lose P. Harvin to the Seahawks...Sammy

Krueger to the Browns, Ellerbe to the Doofins, Wallace also signs with the Doofins.

So now the Ravens have lost Krueger and Ellerbe to FA, Birk and Ray Ray to retirement and Boldin to SF via a trade.

Miami picked up two good players today.

Meanwhile the Patriots continue to sit on their hands while Talib and Welker test the FA waters.

Awesome.

What in the world is Baltimore doing. Now Pollard is gone. Baltimore must have taken advice from the Florida Marlins on "How to Dismantle a Championship Team in 5 Easy Lessons". Painfully obvious there will be no shot a repeat in Raven'sland. -- Al

Welker signs a two year/12 million dollar deal with Denver.

Good; I never forgave him for that drop on third and 3 vs the Giants that would have iced the Super Bowl.

I hope this signals a change of attitude/approach in New England and they go back to defense instead of an offense that puts up a ton of points in the regular season only to lose to teams that present "bad matchups" in the playoffs, ie, the @#$%ing Giants in two Super Bowls, the Jets in 2010 and the Ravens in 2009 and 2012.

Go back to fielding a killer defense Bill.

You're going to miss him.

If they really wanted him, they would have paid him.

End of story.

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

Edit; the Patriots just announced the signing of Amendola; 5 years, 30 million.

He's a younger, faster version of Welker; one door closes, another one opens.

Bye bye Wes, try to hold on to the @#$%ing ball the next time you have a chance to ice the Super Bowl.

Boldin...best reciever in my opinion for Ravens...gone
Pollard...top tackler, big time hitter for Ravens...gone
Ellerbe..Young, mobile rusher, good against run for Ravens...gone
Kruger..top sacker, solid player coming into his own for Ravens...gone
Raw Lewis retires.
Matt birk retires.
Ed Reed making his rounds tommorow in Houston, more likely gone.

So not sure who else may leave but that alone is 7 starters from the Super Bowl winning team, there are changes every year and I know and here about cap space it just seems to me the Ravens haven't a clue right now, and things are spinning out of control into a free fall, where in ends??? I'm thinking a 8-8 record or possibly a losing record, playoffs?? won't even get a sniff in 2013, there isn't enough talent on this team to replace the losses and they can't afford to buy into solid free agents, so I guess the curse of the Super Bowl winner not making the playoffs will continue at this rate, I love my team no matter win or lose, but it hurts to see a really good team quickly dismantled and how hard it is to win in the NFL, oh well, maybe I'll revisit this post in about 10-11 months and hopefully been very wrong, but I don't imagine that will be the case...Sammy

Opps, I spoke to soon, another starter gone!! C. Williams (CB) flys away like a little birdie:mad: I haven't been so disappointed with a off season since 2002 when the Ravens had to gut the team, well at least the new 2012 DVD of the Ravens winning it all came out today, I can always relive 2012 as it's becoming just a memory now...Sammy

I tell you, Sammy, the speed and completeness of this dismantling has got what little hair I have left sticking straight up in shock. They sign Flacco for huge bucks and then let his receivers go. Who is he suppossed to pass to? And the defense is a shambles. This is just sad. -- Al

Just think there Sammy, when you watch that awesome DVD, you can play the where's Waldo game and indentify all the Ravens in the video who are no longer with the team, think of the fun you'll have.

I've never seen a team gutted so quickly as this one; Ozzie had better have a few tricks up his sleeve, but this is what happens when your QB who was going to be a free agent plays out of his mind/WAY above his head for four games and wins you a super bowl, his timing was perfect on that one.

For him.

And only him, not so much for the rest of the team.

Ozzie has pulled some good things out of thin air in the last few years after releasing some good players, time will tell, I was watching the NFL Network and finding it funny how they linked the Pats, Ravens, as some of the bigger losers in free agency so far, but being the Ravens, Pats seem to find away to reshape thier teams year in and year out and find a way to be there come playoff time, will be harder for the Ravens in 2013 for sure, but I'll wait for and hope for some more Ozzie magic...Sammy

Right, which is why I don't watch the NFL network...........the Patriots lost Welker and have signed Amendola as a slot WR, Jones from the Bills as an outside WR, Wilson from the Cardinals as a strong safety (LOVE that signing, he can cover, support the run and hits like a truck), signed Sanders from the Steelers to an offer sheet and are rumored to be close to signing Abraham from the Falcons, he of the 34 sacks the last 3 years, 122 for his career.

Yep, they're losers...........:rolleyes2:

Sounds like E. Reed walks for a extra few million, surprised?? no not anymore, the players talk about "thier house" team loyalties, yada, yada, and that's all it is ...talk, Reed has had more then his share of great contracts and the Ravens have done alot for him, but to walk away when it's clear he wasn't getting any big contract from anyone you thought he finish it in Baltimore?? no, money rules plain and simple...Sammy

You should know by now there is no loyalty in sports, as in zero, owners towards players and vice versa.

It's all about getting the most money if you are player and squeezing the player if you are the owner, that's all it comes down to.

Home town discounts are a pipedream, fans expect it, players rarely take it, they'll walk across the street for an extra dollar and the owners will let them.

How many players once they get to free agency go back to their original team, 99.9999999% of the time, they move on and go elsewhere.

As a player, your window is small, you have to do what is best for you, make as much money as you can while you can, you really can't blame them for that attitude.

He won his super bowl, now he wants to get paid.

I've never seen a championship team get gutted as quickly as the Ravens did, it's shocking to be honest, not sure what their plan is at this point.

I'm not sure they knew what thier plan was either, I think they (hoped) Boldin was taking a pay cut, didn't happen, they were going to resign Ellerbe, didn't happen, Reed was going to stay, didn't happen, Kruger,Williams,Pollard no big deal in replacing them, Ray needed to retire as nothing was left in that tank, well one thing for sure the defense was ranked 20th last year with those starters, so the Raven Defense just got younger whether they had a plan in place or not, the old line comes to mind..change sometimes is a good thing, that will have to be a wait and see for my Ravens in 2013...Sammy

OH my!!{eek3} my Ravens finally, FINALLY have some good news for a change, signed Dumervil today!! Elvis has entered the building:)...Sammy
