Super B...ump!

Congratulations on your team's win. It was an impressive thrashing.:salute:: -- Al

I should have stuck by my original opinion that whoever won the NFC would blow out the winner of the AFC. Denver did not even show up. Manning completely choked, as did the entire Denver team. This was the worst Super Bowl to watch as a disinterested fan since the 49ers destroyed the Chargers. Peyton has now established his legacy as the losing-est post-season QB in NFL history with his record 12th loss. Its amazing how somebody that has the best regular season numbers in NFL history could be so bad in the post-season.

Can't wait for ESPN and the rest of the national media and their excuses for Manning and how it wasn't his fault.

Right; those two INT's including the PIC 6 were the offensive lines fault.

Once again he comes up small in a big game, something he's done his whole career outside of the second half of the 2007 AFCCG, the 2007 Super Bowl and the 2014 AFCCG.

Wow was he awful, as was the whole team, they weren't ready to go.

That said, Seattle's defense is incredible, they are lightening fast and swarm to the ball, they took all the underneath stuff away from Manning and he couldn't beat them deep.

Congrats to Pete the Poodle and Seattle, they were clearly the better team.

Time to put 2013 to bed, bye bye 2013 season......................

Other than the Half time show this did not even feel like a Super bowl game. Congrats to Seattle as they showed up to play and played to win. I would have never expected Denver to play as poorly they did in this game.
Old Peyton helped his team with 2 big picks. As Warrior said 2013 is a done deal.

This was probably the worst SB I have seen in recent memory. Denver took a thrashing. Well, tomorrow will be a better day. Man, Toy Soldier Brigade sure stays up late. He's still logged on at 1:20 am. Its 8:20 pm in Hawaii right now.

Well, it turns out the weatherman wasn't wrong. He was just off by a day. We are getting socked by a major storm here today, expecting 8 inches in the NY metro area. Roads are very risky.

Had it snowed yesterday, it would probably been 86-8.

I always thought the Seahawks were going to win, having seen a few of their games this year. Defense wins championships. I think most of the country wanted Manning to win, however.

I don't think that it was that Manning played that badly but the Seahawks just overwhelmed the Denver offense, particularly the Denver offensive line. If he doesn't have time to throw, he's not going to look good. You can say that about any QB, not just Peyton.

As I mentioned yesterday evening, it seemed like the Seahawks D had been shot out of a cannon and were unstoppable.

Pretty comical that ESPN showed a map of the US and outside of Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, the rest of the country was pulling for Denver.

What, no Connecticut? Just make them a part of New York already and get it over with.

What was the point of the Red Hot Chili Peppers during the halftime show? Bruno Mars was actually pretty good, not bad at all.

And wow, the ads were awful, worst I can ever remember.......

As I normally do, I skipped the show. Combat's comments about it are the same as mine.

Most people who watched probably couldn't care less who won. It's become an event to get drunk and hang out rather than a sports competition. The game was so bad that I checked out some of the inane counter programming on other stations. For example, "Fish Bowl" which involved goldfish swimming in a bowl for hours on end. Occasionally, they would add a little excitement like a dog would take a drink from the bowl. There was also "Sex Sent me to the ER". A show about various injuries that have been reported. The episode I saw involved a couple in a tree. It gives pause as to the future of mankind.

It's funny you say that as I went to a friends house who was hosting a party, there were about 20 people there and when the game started, we were all in the living room watching the game.

As the game went on and the beating commenced, people started to migrate out into the kitchen and as it got worse, there were more people in the kitchen than the living room.

Several people left after the third quarter.

Me? I loved every second of it, from the first snap that resulted in a safety till the final whistle........................

You have to feel for him. They just don't know what hit them.

Mike Francesa on WFAN in NY, who was at the game, said Denver approached this like a normal game whereas Seattle was out for blood. They set the tone early and Denver couldn't match that intensity. Their defense might rival the 1985 Bears'.

Francesa said the noise that the Seatlle fans was incredible. He said in his years of going to Giants Stadium and Met Life he had never heard anything like that.

One of the drive time sports talk radio commentators here made a couple of great points a short time ago; first, he said he was glad New England did not get to the Super Bowl, reason being if the greatest offense in the history of the NFL only scored 8 points, what would have happened to New England.

Brady at this stage of his career is a statue back there, so I agree with that and secondly, he said that between SF, Carolina and Seattle, he sees another one of those NFC runs where the the NFC win several in a row and the AFC representative is nothing more than a lamb to the slaughter. He also said sadly, he does not see Brady winning another super bowl as he's got a two, maybe three year window and the NFC is loaded for the next three to five years.

Two great points, I agree with him totally.

I also agreed with another point he made; the Patriots run a read and react, bend but don't break 3-4 scheme and it's a dinosaur in today's NFL, Seattle and San Francisco run defenses than win championships, not the Patriots. Seattle punched Denver in the mouth and they had no answer for that.

The worm has turned in the NFL...................

This was one of those SB's where I didn't have any emotional stake in either team so I kind of rooted for an individual, Manning, to do well. Didn't work out, not even close. However I did take a little enjoyment from the fact that a defense was able to rise up and win another championship (like in the NFL days of yore) by stopping the pass happy offense that now rules the NFL. -- Al

The game was terrible. I did like a few of the commercials. My top three were:

1. Puppy Love-Budweiser
2. Time Machine-Doritos
3. Doberhuahua-Audi
