You guys didn't think I'd miss my thread!!??🤣🤣🤣...had a talk with George this A M. We both in agreement how the NFL.puts on a schedule this year is going to be tough any way they decide...I hope there is a 2020 but certainly going to be a different year.

The season hasn't started and already complaints about the refs? LOL. The Rams open up their new multi-billion dollar stadium against the Cowboys. That would be quite a show if it actually happens. No fans would be a bummer, though. George's Pats make the trip to LA. Ordinarily a good vacation opportunity to escape the artic nightmare but not so much this year.

My son showed me the video yesterday. He’s still mad about the game. I told he needed to move on; these things happen. When I first started watching the video, I was skeptical. However, as the video progressed, the more I was convinced. The video seems to suggest that the fix was in, that the league wanted the Chiefs to win after 50 years. That possibility can’t be discounted.

With the torch being passed from Brady to Mahomes as the poster boy for the NFL, you can't have him losing the Super Bowl...………….nah, nothing to see here.

Good for the Chefs, an inept buffoon of a franchise that after the skids were greased for them (went from the #3 seed having to beat NE and Baltimore to falling *** backwards into the #2 seed, then getting HOF against a Titans team that ran out of mojo after the Ravens crapped themselves), they finally won the big one.

Now just go away.

They probably win another SB, then Mahomes is off his rookie deal, they have to pay him a ton of dough, the rest of the roster gets gutted and they fade away for another 50 years.

WO....OHWO...…..WO...…….OHWO!!!!!

Does anyone seriously think pro sports are coming back in 2020?

I hope not, I can't see it happening.

Even if there are no fans, in football there are 100 or so people on each sideline, so they're supposed to all stand 6 feet apart? And coaches and trainers all wear masks? And the refs wear masks too? What if a player tests positive the Saturday before a game, he gets locked down for 2 weeks, what about the rest of the team?

Pro sports should be the last think to even be considered at this point...……………..just too risky and there are too many x factors to think about.

MAYBE hockey and basketball come back in December...……..MLB and the NFL in 2021 if they are lucky, we're only 3 months into this mess and it's not going anywhere anytime soon...…...……......…...

George,

No I don't think so. Especially, college sports. We as fans are dun fer for the year...I think. I mean the owners or the commish can't force players to play right? But, man the NFL players only get paid during the season, which means they are out of work. No sports, no championships to play and certainly no revenue. This will be a huge hole in the "force".

Even high school sports and the little leagues are affected and all the revenue from those venues will be lost as well. I know they don't compare to the the pros, but **** man if you really think about it all sports are doomed for the year. Hell, my daughter didn't get to finish her soccer season, but at least she got to play for 3/4 of the season. It was the season that never ended. This is a disaster.

As expected, the Rams have screwed up their new uniforms. The helmet is not too awful but they have gone with a trendy looking XFL/Arena League style uniform. I really hate the two toned numbers.

Wish they would just go back to their 1960's era white and blue. Loved their white road unis with the blue trim and the blue helmet with the white horns. For that matter, they should bring back Roman Gabriel, too. :wink2: -- Al

Yes, those were the good old days. Deacon Jones, Jack Snow, Merlin Olsen. Nothing like those blue and white uniforms under the California sun, but time marches on. I assume these new space suits are designed for a younger set of fans.

I see that arrest warrants have been issued for two players who are accused of armed robbery at a cookout they attended in Florida.

Why is it that only NFL players seem to have trouble with the law in the off-season. Players in other sports don’t seem to have the amount of legal troubles that NFL players do.

Armed robbery at a cook out?

I know there are meat shortages, but this is nuts...………..

It’s hard to understand the thinking behind such an act compared to the money they could have made from football.

Yep. The 3 geniuses involved in this caper all got into separate high-profile type luxury cars to make their getaways. Looks like there were only about a thousand witnesses.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I blame the NFL itself for these incidents.

Brady gets 4 gams for deflating footballs, anyone who uses social media to say anything remotely controversial is all but banned for life.

Meanwhile incidents like this are barely punished and the players involved return to the league with their reputations and careers intact.

Yes, you nailed it.

The NFL is marketing their game to a younger crowd, these new uniforms prove it.

They could care less about old timers like me, if they did, they'd go with the white and blue helmet, blue shirt, white pants classic look from the 1960's, not these space suits as you call them which is dead on accurate.

I'll be 60 in December, my days of wearing player jerseys are long gone, I'll leave that to the teenagers and 20 somethings the league is now catering to.

Fox Sports is apparently considering using something called "virtual fan noise" if the NFL games are played with no fans in attendance. Like the laugh tracks they had on 1960's sitcoms. Strange times.

Question that I don't know the answer to, is the TV revenue enough to play these games profitable without live attendance and ticket sales? Doing the math, each team would have to get a crapload of the cut in order to make the week to week costs break even.
