Whats going on fella,s this "LOCK OUT" i don't understand there,s been Judges involved ^&confuse^&confuse^&confuse^&confuse
Wayne,
As expected, a judge granted the players' injuction to stop the lockout and refused to grant a stay of the order, which means the players have access to the teams' training facilities. However, the owners are planning to appeal the decision to a higher court. If the Court of Appeals overturns the Judge's opinion, then the lockout is back in effect. If it upholds the Judge's opinion, then basically the players can go back to work.
Ultimately, this has to be solved at the bargaining table by the owners and the players' representatives. Courts can't arrive at a settlement.
Apparently not. Players can do it on their own but not with team involvement.
Right now, it's almost May. The Court of Appeals may not decide this until mid June. Training camps are supposed to open in July. That's not a lot of team to get a deal done.
This situation exists only because of owner greed.
Didn't know that, didn't follow the draft. That is good news. Thanks for the info, Chris. -- AlHey Al, looks like you'll get to see a little more of Torrey Smith. Taken by the Ravens in 2nd round. I wish him all the best, he did well for the Terps. Chris
