NHL Playoffs 2022 (2 Viewers)

There was no joy around the igloos last night. The Avs made quick work of the Oilers. 4-0. There must have been a traffic jam along those logging roads last night as the sad sack Edmonton fans headed home.

I had a great laugh last night on the winning goal in OT when the announcers went to retired referee Koharski to get his opinion of the high stick whether it was a good goal. Koharski watched the replay and said "Oh s--t" on live TV. Then apologized, but everyone had a good laugh.

That was quite a roundhouse knockout blow that that Rangers fan delivered after the game to a Tampa fan. Not sure what the backstory was there but because someone was filming it must have been ongoing. Thankfully the guy wasn't hurt. One thing you never ever do is mouth off to a bunch of drunken homers after a tough loss. Not in these times. The people are angry.

Huge game tonight. The Avs have looked like the better team but Tampa has that heart of a champion.

Colorado is insanely talented, they wore down Tampa last night, they blew them off the ice in OT, hit the post and the crossbar, no clue the winning goal even went in, but it clearly did.

They are on another level talentwise, they skate, skate, pass, shoot, pinpoint passing, none of the goonery trying to kill opposing team players and mucking and grinding to wins, they fly up and down the ice.

I do not really care who wins, I just want to see great hockey.

Of all of the 4 major sports hockey generally has a compelling finals, this year is no different.

Love them or hate them these two teams both deserve the Cup.

Thankfully I will get at least 6 games of fantastic hockey.

I am hoping for 7……..

Tampa is stayin' alive. I'm no fan of Florida hockey (or any sports team) but they have shown real heart over the last several years. Now they get one at home.

Tampa had a rodeo scheduled for today, amazing they were able to move it to next weekend in order to host the game tonight, what an industrious group.

Colorado wins the cup, good for them, they seem like a decent group of guys, some veterans mixed in with young amazing talent, wire to wire favorites this year.

Gee, too bad about Tampa, hopefully this is it for them, saw some stooge in the crowd with a "CHAMPA" hat on, looked like something you get at Sheetz for free with a fill up.

CHAMPA this.

The Avs were the best team in the playoffs. Have to give Tampa credit, though. They hung in there until the bitter end. Those Rangers fans will be brooding over that playoff loss for a long time. That footage of the Rangers fan delivering a KO punch to the Tampa fan was something else. He went down like the Hindenburg at Lakehurst. Not great to be a NY sports fan recently.

Of course you want your hometown team to be in the finals but on the other hand it is fun to watch two teams that you don't care who really wins. I remember in 2019, with the Blues in the finals for the first time in their history, it was torture watching. When they finally won it it was all worth it
Colorado was clearly the best team but it looked like Tampa just ran out of gas.

That was a great Finals, every game was well worth the watch.

The Stanley Cup truly is the greatest trophy in all sports and the hand-shake line at the end of the series is the greatest tradition.
