NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

I am hoping the ducks take the wings, should be a good series.

Thats crazy talk! Maybe if they were still the Mighty Ducks but now that there just the Ducks I don't see it happening :D

I,m not a Detroit fan, but the Wings got screwed tonight.
The ref really missed that Detroit goal in the final minutes.
Having said that, too bad Detroit!
Bruins vs Canucks in the finals.

Gary it's not the worst missed call I've seen and I really like the Wings as you know but I was really impressed with Babcock's and the other players post game comments. The Ducks agreed they got away with one and Detroit's view is they are only playing two periods of good hockey which isn't enough in this series as they better show up for the first period next game or they could find themselves on the golf course early. Of course the Ducks seem like they have bricked up the entrance to there net as Hiller is facing a barrage of shots 46-23 last night and 145-93 in the first three games.
Oh don't be so sure about Boston just yet. If they win tonight they might have a shot but if the Canes can pull off the up-set, watch out. Canes have done well at home this year and the fans and noise at the RBC Center is just crazy.
Great hockey all around,I must say. I know there are not alot of fans on this site but it's been a very exciting play-off series. Most enjoyable, without the scandals some of the other sports seems to have.

Yes that was a goal id say. The refs & linesman are blowing down the play to early, & jumping in as soon as two guys might yap, god forbid. On another note, good to see jim the rim, stick it to bettman again, & put in a bid for the jets, i mean coyotes :). The NHL would be real stupid to not him buy the team move it back to canada & ontario. But you can see it now that bettman will some how try all he can to stop that. I think it's time for bettman to go!!

You don't even wanna know what the talk around Detroit is right now. Look for a fired up Wings team in game 4. Still sticking to my guns Detroit vs. Boston

As long as the Bruins can defeat those scrappy Hartford Whalers, who should be home right now as NJ gagged away that game 7 up a goal with a little over a minute left.

Teams that snatch victory from the jaws of defeat usually end up winning it all, which would be great for those rabid Hurricane fans; they've got such a rich hockey tradition down in Carolina, weren't they one of the original six?

Yeah, I think so; Boston, Detroit, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and Carolina...............

Gotta love their cheerleaders too; hockey cheerleaders, just priceless, what yahoos......

I hear you George, NC is based on college hoops,NASCAR and wrestling but the Canes deserve there share of the glory. It's been 15 years since someone, other than Detroit, out of the original six has won a cup so I don't think it's fair to be that hard on just them. Aside from the cheerleaders(come on admit you don't look away when they show these girls on TV) the fans have really taken a shine to their team. I think its great for the sport of hockey in itself to get that many people out to support a sport that was suppose to fail in a poor marketing environment. Well big surprise it didn't fail afterall. The move from Greensboro was the right thing to do thats for sure.
All your favourite teams can't win all the time George. I thought a couple of years back Detroit had a shot at the triple as the Wings won the cup,the Tigers won the World Series and the Pistons had a shot at the championship.I could be wrong in that order but I know for sure it wasn't the Lions in contention for anything.Lol!
Yes I am a Wings fan(they better freak'n straighten up themselves) but I have to admit I am on the Hurricane wagon since moving here ten years ago. Hey they even had the Steeler's ex coach wail'n on the air raid siren last night at the opening players skate. That was priceless.
Don't worry your Bruins aren't done. The series isn't over, yet!

I agree, Canada should have another team. Love listening to the Canadian anthem when a Canadian team comes to St Louis.
Just read today Bettman is trying to put the kabash on this deal.
As for hockey fans, there may not be a huge number, but I really believe they are the most passioate about their sport.

I'm pulling for the Bruins more for my Dad than myself, he's a diehard from the glory days of the 1970's and they haven't won the cup since 72, he's been waiting a long time for another one. I'm more of a Red Sox/Patriots fan myself. Could care less about basketball.

I didn't want to rain on his parade, but I had a bad feeling about this series for two reasons; a.) the Whalers snatched victory from the jaws of defeat vs the Devils and are now playing with house money and b.) i thought the Bruins would suffer a letdown after beating the Canadiens 4 strait and having to sit around for a week.

What does Staal do, play 59 minutes a game? Give the Whalers credit, the puck is bouncing their way; Staal scores when an errand clear out lands on his stick and he's parked right in front of the net on the power play, then Thomas makes a great save and the rebound lands on the stick of whoevertheguywaswhoscoredthesecondgoal parked in front of the net. Bang, bang, two goals in about a minute, game over. The Bruins were in control of the game up until that point.

If they lose Friday, the Whalers get the Capitals, unless Pittsburg somehow beats them.

Hartford/Vancouver in the finals; I can hear tv's across North America clicking off at the thought of that......................

Bettman still thinks the team can make a go of it in pheonix :) It's one of his babies, & no way he wants them coming to canada. So if they stay the other owners will have to pay maybe 2 million each to keep them afloat next season lol. I would love to see bettman loose this little battle, the whole of canada hates him i think :)

Erm....not just Canada...

Good night Boston Bruins; 116 points, #1 seed and they are going down in flames to the Whalers, a team that ended up as the #6 seed, won a miracle game 7 vs New Jersey and aside from game #1 of this series, have won every period since.

The Bruins are a young team and hopefully will learn from this; they smoked the Canadiens and knocked the Whalers all over the ice in game 1 and then they just assumed they'd smoke the Whalers too.

Wrong.

One word mate, staal. Still have a chance, but slim, pity as i like some of the bruin players. Would love lucic on the leafs :D

I picked Boston to be in the finals, but have to say they don,t look to good.
Was it my tv or was the crowd so loud in Carolina that you could hardley hear the announcers?
Hey Brian, who do you root for if the finals are Carolina and Detroit?
Gary

The Bruins gave a ton of money to Tim Thomas and they will not be able to sign all three of this group; Lucic, Kessel and Wheeler, so you may get your wish..............

No, they don't look good at all, the Whalers are skating circles around them are dominating the Bruins end of the ice.

If they manage to win here tomorrow, I'd say they have zero chance of winning in front of all of those rabid Whaler fans..............

Think they were thinking of trading kessel anyway, no way they will let lucic walk i doubt.
