With the Kings having a couple of ex members of the Flyers on their team, how many times are the talking heads going to reference their comeback in the playoffs a couple of years ago vs the Bruins and how they're now on the other end of it, blah, blah, blah.....

Take care of business at home and end this thing.

His balance is just fine. His priorities are in the right place. And Boston will be just fine with Rask and the young prospect goalie.

Exactly, he doesn't owe the Bruins or their fans anything more, he did what he set out to do and was a huge part of bringing the Cup back to Boston ..... and certainly doesn't owe the W.H. a thing. Way to go Tim. {bravo}}

He signed a contract, he should honor it.

If he's going to retire, he should just say he's retiring, not sitting out a year as the Bruins are on the hook for his salary cap space wise, so in effect, he's holding the Bruins hostage.

And his decision not to go to the White House caused a huge distraction for the team, at the time they were the best team in hockey and they stumbled quite a bit afterward, losing to Smoltzy and the Capitals in the first round.

The Kings probably gave their best effort of the series last night, but it doesn't matter if you don't score goals. Five shots off the post in the last two games while the Devils get a freak deflection and muff by Quick for two goals (one of which was scored after a bogus penalty). If the Kings finish in LA that will be great. Winning in front of the home crowd and Taylor Stevens is as good as it gets. Hopefully they don't let this slip away. The announcers were biased enough last night. Imagine if the Devils extend this to seven and win. There will be an Al Michaels "miracle" moment to watch the rest of our lives. GO KINGS.

Looks like Doug will be a happy man tonight. Congratulations after all these years. There's hope for the football Jets! ^&grin

LA happy.^&grin Putty sad.:( Congratulations, LA. Kings sure had a heck of a playoff run. -- Al

Send that Cup down to the Apple now baby!

Why wait?

So as another NHL season goes into the books, looks like that's the end of this thread.

And here is the beginning of it.

Awesome.

Have to admit that I didn't expect the Kings to make a run for it. They had a great goaltender but as the number 8 seed in the west with the lowest goals per game in the league - forget about it. The six goals they scored in game six were the most of the season. They didn't have a chance. But Sutter did one h-e-double hockey stick of a job coaching. The pieces were there and they made a run for the ages once he took over. It was great to see the post game celebration. One thing I will say about hockey is that the players are not prima donnas like those in the NBA or NFL. They are more or less regular guys. And after nearly 50 years of frustration the cup coming to LA was a welcome sight. It should do wonders for hockey out west. Brown was only the second US born guy to captain a team to victory in the Stanley Cup. That's incredible. The game has been dominated by Canada. Anything is possible now. George may become president of the Holtby fan club; Taylor Stevens may be given a lifelong pass to all the Kings games. The sky is the limit.

It's ok, you can thank me for starting it and, oh, by the way, guess what the beginning of next year's thread will be? Don't have far too look.

Going to see the Bears play tonight and with the NHL lockout guess who is in goal? George's favorite player Mr. Holtby (aka the Bruin killer).:wink2:

This lock out is a true disgrace, to h--- with the fans.
Being a season ticket holder I wonder legally if this stoppage would null and void my tickets that, i could get a full refund being that the owners are locking the players out, not a players strike?
Brad you ought to know.

At least the AHL is off and skating tonight. Nice and crispy weather for hockey. Hershey Bears and Syracuse Crunch. Mr. Holtby in goal.

Gary,

I believe the answer is, yes, you get a refund based on a search I did. Please see the following Pittsburgh Gazette article regarding the Penguins refund policy, http://www.post-gazette.com/stories...-refund-policy-if-games-are-cancelled-653766/
