Great win for the Kings last night. I tuned in to watch the news, found the game still on, in OT, and then saw the winning goal a few seconds later. I saw about the last minute of the game and I saw all that really mattered. I should have such good timing in real life.:rolleyes2: -- Al
I did it again and so did the Kings. Tuned in to watch the news and caught the last few minutes of the Kings winnng in OT. Now the Kings are up 2-0 on 2OT, 1 goal wins. Couldn't be much more of an even match. Perhaps I will watch a whole game to see what happens.:wink2: -- Al

The Devils outplayed them last night but Quick was the difference in goal. The guy just doesn't give up more than one or two goals. 14-2 in the playoffs and 10-0 on the road. Two down and two more to go.

Don't they enforce the goalie interference rule anymore in the NHL? I've noticed this throughout the playoffs. Looking at some of the highlights of game 2 and the Devils did everything except tackle Quick. They knocked his helmet off twice and on the goal they did score some guy is practically laying on top of him. The guy is ridiculous with the saves he made in that game. The Kings won only because they have the top goal tender in the NHL right now.

Six power plays to zip and the Kings are still up 2-0. It's ridiculous. And a goalie interfence call for once, but on the Kings. What a crock. Fortunately, the Kings are simply the better team thanks to Quick. He is too good.

Looks like it's over. Kings lead 3-0 in games. I know anything is possible, but tell grandma to bet the farm on LA. -- Al

Yeah, that series looks to be over. I don't follow the Western Division at all but sounds like the Coach made all the difference. He must have put a burr in the players' saddle ^&grin

I'm hoping the Kings win out tonight. It's always a bummer to clinch the championship on the road and present the trophy while the fans are heading for the exits. The Kings have dominated the playoffs. I think any of three teams they beat in the west were as good or better than the Devils. The coaching has been a huge factor, but the pieces were there with the best goal tender in hockey and a lot of talent. 15-2 and 10-0 on the road. Dating back to the last playoffs the Kings have won 12 straight on the road which ties the all time record in any sport. It's been a long time coming but the bubbly is on ice.

I told you guys after the LA, St Louis series, these guys are unstoppable.
But what,s with Coach Sutter, what a crab!! How could anyone with that disposition and personality survive.
His brother Brian when he was with the Blues was the same way, INTENSE. So I guess I answered my own question.

Not so fast Shlomo. Keep that overconfidence bottled up a little while longer :wink2:

The Devils outplayed them last night. The first two games were a wash. So the series is a bit closer than 3-1 might indicate. The Kings are relying on Quick to basically hold the Devils to one goal or less. They have toned down the aggressive play to avoid penalties. I would dial that up in game 5. If the Kings win game 5, then they break the all-time sports record for most consecutive road wins in the playoffs - currently tied with the Lakers at 12.

Zach Parise's father played for the 1975 Islanders. Need I say more.

The highlight of that game last night was the shot of Taylor Stevens sitting behind the Devils bench.

I love LA.

I was flipping channels back and forth last night and caught that "double threat" so to speak in the light dress?
I was wondering who it was. It sure didn,t look like just any hockey mom!
George, what's with Tim Thomas? Is he not balanced correctly? First refusing to go to the White House, now sitting out a year at his age?

The look on the Devils coach's face when he spotted, them, I mean her was priceless..........

Thanks for standing on your head last year Tim and winning us a cup.

His minutes were going to get cut way back this year as it's time for Tuka to step in to the #1 goalie position, so Tim is greasing the skids for an exit out of town.

Goodbye, so long, adios and vaya con dios Tim..........

If that didn't distract them, then nothing will. They should put her behind the Kings goal in the next game.

The bubbly has been chilling for several days now. It's time to close out. Hopefully it is not humid in NJ today or Quick may fall through the ice. They could throw him Taylor Stevens as a floation device, but I digress. Time to hoist the cup. There is another Taylor Stevens pun there but I'll leave it at that.

His balance is just fine. His priorities are in the right place. And Boston will be just fine with Rask and the young prospect goalie.

Do I hear the fans getting a little nervous, is the "c" word starting to creep in, are the 75 Penguins in the Kings' rearview mirror? Heh, heh ^&grin

They better win it in LA because they ain't gonna win it in Jersey.

Somewhere, Putty is really enjoying this, the LA fans, a little less so, right now. -- Al
