Spoke to Brad Lewin and he suggested help may be forthcoming from the forum
I have three figures of the napoleonic vintage all on horseback. I would like to know something about theses figures as I purchased them a long time ago and did not keep track of the details
The base of each figure is as follows;
St. Petersburg
NIENA
the writing below is:
Erchova C.13.59
Zhurkova C.4.90
Krestyaniseva C.2.41
I know current NiENA are very high end figures
theses figures seem well sculptured but I know nothing about their background
Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Hi, Harvey, can you get some pictures posted? The inscriptions help, but it would also be very useful if we could see them.

As far as Niena's quality goes, they have different grades. I have some Niena figures that are painted in a very simple matte finish, in what it sometimes referred to as the "Chinese style", because it was common among makers in Hong Kong from the Seventies and on. That's why it'll be helpful if you can post some pictures.

Prost!

Here's Niena's website (maybe you can use it as reference to locate your figures and learn more about them?):

Some of their figures can be purchased in the US here:

The owner of Niena, Igor, has posted here before so you can find his old photo posts and pm him.

Many thanks
will spend the evening checking the websites and Brad(L.) has been kind enough to post any pictures I can get to him.
The Forum is unbeatable when members like me need some assistance

Hello Harvey
I apologize for the long answer, but I do not often read news on the forum.

These figures was made in 1995- 2007 .
Erchova C.13.59

Erchova was the painter
13.59 is mean catalog number http://www.niena.ru/en/catalog/8032/34/65/70

symbol C is mean that this figure was made in stile we called "collector quality" http://www.niena.ru/en/catalog/help
At that time this stile was very popular
It close to the stile of FL and CS
If you have more questions you can contact me
Best Regards

Yeah, the figures I have from your catalog, Igor, are painted to souvenir quality. I've picked them up at the various shows. They fit in well, in terms of that level or style of painting, with old King-White/Reeves figures, early K&C, Frontline.

Prost!
