To share my latest E-Bay fiasco.....I buyer from Greece purchased a K&C item from me. Remitted payment and 5 days later from when he paid filed a PAYPAL claim for non receipt of his item. I am so sorry that my personal lear jet was not able to deliver his box to Greece within 5 days ! Does it get any worse than this ? {sm2}

Same thing happened to me, that is why I try and avoid international auctions. I do send to France, UK, and Germany, I have never had any problems with those countries.

Hey guys,
Don't forget Australia. We in the Land Downunder do understand that it takes about 10 to 12 working days for a parcel from the States to arrive. Many new collectors are looking for old retired sets and the Land of Milk and Honey has plenty for sale.^&grin
Cheers Howard

Call Paypal directly and speak to a rep, they will explain your options. What mail service did you use?

Thanks
Tom

Does it get any worse than this ?

you didn't mention if you mailed the set or not...

I hope it doesn't get worse...if you already mailed it...it might...

unless you have some type of confirmation of delivery to him...it might get much worse...

he could easily say..."I never received it"...:rolleyes2:

Luckily I had the box ready to send out, but checked my E-bay before shipping and saw the buyers complaint. If anyone here knows how to ship a box to Greece and have it arrive there in a few days please make me privy to that method. Other than International express service. Based on all of this there was absolutely no reason to ship to a nut who had a feedback rating of 1 when he made this alleged purchase. Greece is on my "DO NOT SHIP TO LIST"

I had a customer in Australia who decided that after three long days of waiting I was screwing him and he filed a complaint. His order shipped Priority mail International with a delivery confirmation number. PayPal does not give a rats hiney about the circumstances. They just remove the funds from your account. Now they will only help you if you have a TRACKING number with FedEx or USPS Express mail. Apparently regular Priority Mail is no longer good enough for them. After ten days the confirmation number clearly showed that his order arrived, and they still would not credit back my money. They only did it after THE CUSTOMER contacted them and said he did receive the order. If overseas orders were not a large part of my business I would have to seriously rethink shipping any thing outside of the country.

The do not ship to list is a joke. I use it along with bold text in my item descriptions, and still get buyers from the dreaded countries. I just had someone use the buy now for an item that would be $800 to ship to his country. So if he said he did not get it I would be out the $800 plus the cost of the item.

I had the same problem had to give them proof of postage as well

One of the worst things E-bay did was remove the ability of the "seller" to leave negative feedback for unworthy buyers !!!

Panzer...Leaving your International bidders door open is just asking for a fruitloop! For me I put at the end of auction description..."International bidders with 100% feedback may bid upon request"...now when they email you, you can see how their feedabck score ranks...if feedback score passes you now have the option of informing them you "only" ship USPS Express International (about $40-50, whatever the actual cost is). For me, I always tell them this but almost always charge $40 regardless if more and credit back if less. My sent items are taking about 3-5 days with this service. This method was recommended by another TF member here and works really well for me. Having Express service overseas is vital considering handling & in transit time. If the prospective buyers don't like the idea of paying $40-50 then that is their choice to say no...I don't think anyone has ever said "no", or that's crazy...it's always like "that works for me, or "that sounds fair". Why not use this method since you can pick & choose who has the right to bid? As of now, I have about 20 bidders from overseas on my bidders list that have a right to buy anytime from me they choose too!

Cheers,

Just in cae you are not aware, there is an eBay section which allows you to select various countries not to ship too which would eliminate those clowns who choose not to read as their bids will be automatically blocked. The following explanation I copied & pasted directly from eBay to help anyone with these issues. Good luck.

Exclude Ship-to Locations

Q: How do I restrict my buyers to certain countries, instead of offering my items worldwide?
A: You can now set up your own preferred exclusion list right in My eBay, or create an exclusion list for an individual listing. Then apply the exclusion list while you're listing your item through the Sell Your Item form or Turbo Lister. This option will only be visible if you choose to sell internationally.

To do this, just follow these steps:
Click My eBay at the top of any eBay page
Click on the Account tab and select "Site Preferences"
Location Buyer requirements and click on the "Show" link to the right, then click "Edit".
Check off "Buyers in countries to which I don't ship"
Scroll down and click Submit

Hang Tough,
Beaufighter

The problem is if a buyer want to rip you of on eBay he can no matter what you do as eBay will always side on the buyer!

Unfortunately, what you say is true. That is why I insure everything at full sale price and send anything international over $25.00 in value by USPS Express Mail to cover my "six" which it has done thankfully!

Best,
Beaufighter
