I thought it might be different to suggest something other than just military. Maybe famous crimes or criminals. There are any number of possibilities just with American gangsters. St. Valentine's Day massacre, Dillinger's escape from prison or death, the Little Bohemia Lodge shootout (Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson vs FBI!). Maybe some historical crimes like Jack the Ripper, Lizzie Borden, the Lindbergh kidnapping, JFK assassination etc.

Someone already did a figure of Ned Kelly, I'm pretty sure. I remember the article from Toy Soldier & Model Fogure a couple of years ago. I don't remember who the maker was, though, although now, Wilson Edwards comes to mind.

Regarding crime-themed sets, they personally don't interest me, but there have been some sets of those subjects already, like the currently available set of the James gang, I think it is, robbing a bank.

I remember that Home Foundry and Junior Caster both made molds of G-men and gangsters, back in the day.

Prost!

Bonnie & Clyde?

Yes, the final shootout/ambush would make a great scene. I remember when the B&C death car made the rounds in various publicity tours. All shot up. I think it is now somewhere in a museum in Nevada. The JFK car is in a museum in Michigan although somewhat altered. The weird thing about the car in which JFK was assassinated is that LBJ continued to use it. There are even pictures of RFK sitting in the back seat of the car after the assassination. He must have known he was sitting right where his brother had been killed. A bit creepy.

I would still like to see things like chess sets made. This would be able to incorporate all of these type of suggestions in an almost good guys V bad guys release. You could expand this further but, again, I suppose its down to popularity and, cost effectiveness for manufacturers

Well, Johnson was creepy; the thing that get's me the most is his smirking face being sworn in right opposite John F's widow Jackie. I could exapnd on that but way off topic.

There are some Franklin Mint 1/24 scale '33 Ford's over in europe - somewhat pricey and not the one in the ambush though. I have seen one that is a 1/24 replica of the car. Making a 1/24 BAR and shotgun from scratch would not be too tough. Finding good figures is another matter. Only ones close I have seen would need modifications, detailing and repainting, perhaps clothing changes. No 1/30, 1/32 [etc] cars otherwise unless you want to make a pre-ambush dio in which case there are some diecast 1/30(ish) scale '32 Fords are around.

Hate to agree with you Mitch but that is a clever suggestion..I have a Chess set with Waterloo figures.. there are any amount of subjects and figures you could use.....Naps...WW1...WW2...Zulu would be a great subject.....Queen Victoria and her mob, verses the Zulu's.....very expensive though....you would be lucky to get any change from a $1000 ( with 32 figures that figure might be a wee bit understated) ......and if you dont play chess it would not be much use to you....good idea though...cheers TomB
