NOR068 German Tiger I, 2nd Co 101st Heavy Panzer Battalion (1 Viewer)

I believe shill is the correct term to describe your activities!

Interestingly, the number is still at four. Now, if I had a suspicious mind :wink2: I might think that Matt held a few back from inventory to generate a little bit of a feeding frenzy -- "oh, no, I'm going to miss out!" Maybe Matt should hire me as the official First Legion barker ^&grin

Likely a good number of these Tigers have been purchased by dealers to be sold to customers....It would be interesting to find out how many were actually produced by FL

A shill? Really? :rolleyes2: Collectors have been waiting years for an FL Tiger. The model looks well done. There is a limited supply. It doesn't need a shill to sell out quickly.

The manufacturers would want to save their shill money for to unload poor models or overproduced ones. ^&grin^&grin

I would order from Treefrog as they are very reliable.

Production quantities in polystone are usually around 100 pieces. First legion assembles their models from resin subassemblies; much like building a polystyrene model. The production runs could be very different depending on the type of tooling they are using. Soft tooling is good for about 100 pieces. Steel or Chrome plated Aluminum tooling is good for thousands of pieces.

Small quantities give the cachet of exclusivity; but at a higher cost per piece. Also the quality is usually better.

@katana,

Quality from FL is not usually better, they are the best made product around at a very affordable price.

For me , i would prefer they make 1000s of those Tiger I or any other products made, i dont like having pressure to buy products because , you know it will be sold wintin 24hours.

Yesterday morning , i received the newsletters (new products from FL) from my local Distributor, it took me 5 minutes to purchase the Tiger via internet. I knew i had to do this right away, even so , when i came back from work, my distributor told me that the Tiger was sold out, or at least they couldnt get anymore.

Thats something i really dont like, and really hope it can be fixed in some way.

Yes Brad,
As soon as i was told it wasn't available from my Distro, i went up to FL website to order the tank
As of now everything seems all ok, im just crossing fingers, you never know. Lol.

Serge

Hopefully you will get it. It seems as if it's still in stock.

Brad

Excellent looking Tiger, very nice indeed.

Rob

It is out of stock from FL

Hopefully they will produce a few more as they did with the Shermans, halftracks etc. but no doubt that in these days and times of the toy soldier world, First legion has become a world leader in this industry, a few short years back it was the weight issue, or to much resin etc. kind of non sense, a quality product will always win out....I have people complain to me everyday about the price of my Beef Tenderloins (20.00 bucks a pound!!!) but they are a no. 1 seller as well!!!^&grin either way, let's hope First legion will produce either more numbers of such releases or another round of a variance of the Tiger.

I personally prefer FL to produce another variance of tiger from the same battalion.

I was checking on the releases of the Shermans and Panzer IVs and there is a good chance another version will appear next month. Then another a month or two after that, but Matt is not that predictable.

Now available for purchase as the last one....

Do you think TC006 (German Tank Crew with Headset) would fit in the hatch of this tank? Is it pretty certain that a new tank commander figure will be released for it? If so Ill wait for that...

Although I can't speak for the company itself, I am pretty sure that there will be a tank commander figure released at some point for this Tiger. I believe it has been mentioned by Matt himself on this forum before.

The Kronprinz 3/4 figure Panzer Kommanders will fit. I use them in the Figarti Tiger I #222. I posted several photos showing them in a variety of Panzers. FL should have some figures out soon for the new Tigers.
