Hi Luiz,
Apologies first...I just discovered this wonderful thread...and your incredible collection!
K&C's very first releases were "Glossies"...Seaforth Highlanders on parade and in action...Your displays took me back in time.
Also delighted to see so many of our "Desert Village" buildings and wall sections in your work...Very well done and congratulations. Happy Collecting! Andy.

Hi Andy,
Thanks a lot for the kind note.
I am a big fan of the Victorian Period Little Wars...and it has been an up the hill fight ( with a great help from Obee - the master mind behind giving all these sets life! ) to collect all these period figures, given that they are so few and far apart these days!

Also I have to thank you and your team for the first class collection of buildings, walls and fortifications that you have provided us collectors with in the Desert Villages series. They are made of sturdy and well built material that give a sense of reality to the scenarios.....
The series is so good and flexible that I can use the buildings for my Sudan, Egypt and Northwestern Frontier scenarios not to mention my French Foreign Legion collection...and they are a perfect fit:salute:::salute::
Please keep up with the Desert Village series and launch more buildings and towers/corner towers so that we can ( like you have done in the Roman series ) actually build a small fort with four corners to it.
Cheers
From a South American Collector and big fan of yours.
Luiz

This is a typical small column of soldiers - British Army section ( Royal Irish Fuslieirs ) and a section of Khyber Rifles along with some pack animals starting a trip into the Pass......Losts of challanges awaits them as the go into the Pass...
Obee ( John ) thanks again for the great set!
Cheers

Beautifully painted column. Smashing photos. Terrific collection.

All these glossy chaps in pith helmets are getting to me. My resistance is beginning to crumble. A new front might have to open.:)

:salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::Great to hear from you M....
The more recent posting are mostly Asset sets and they come as kits to be painted....More to come in this thread as more sets will be incorporated as they get assembled/painted....
Asset has come out with these great sets and I assure you, worth the investment.{sm4}{sm4}. Asset has an extensive list/catalogue and all sets are signed for by our late and great friend Alan Calton.
The older postings are a mixture of Maison Militaire, Stadden and WETs....Pitty here is that neither are trading any longer. Especially WETs, it´s founder Craig died a couple of years ago - and the business was not kept up by this brother/sons...{sm2} So both Stadden and Wets will only be available at the fairs and exebitions or via eBay!
Cheers

Thanks for the link to Asset A_C. They really have wide range as you say and the castings are a very reasonable price. The painted items also look to be very good value. Hard to knock a painted British infantryman for £10. Its no wonder I liked the figures if they were designed by Alan Caton. He had a real knack for producing neat and simple castings especially suited to paint- it- yourself.

I look forward to seeing the rest of your troops...and of course the guns :)

Dear Artillery Crazy

Your display is really great. I have seen it in other threads and I like it. The photos give the impression of troops on the move, preparing to leave their camp for an expedition. Congratulations! I noticed that you have Heritage miniatures among your troops. Ken has a fantastic N/W Frontier series . I am posting a picture of your troops opponents made by Heritage. I will be back with more N/W figures. 20170706_161424_resized.jpg

Dear A/C ,

Thanks for the kind words. What Afgans do you want? Heritage of from some other manufacturer? I know that Regal Enterprises has some beautiful sets on foot and mounted. I cannot recall any other maker. Are there any other Afgans out there?

Hi Thanasis,
Little Legion also offers some very nice sets of Afgans...check them out!

Dear A/C

What I really enjoy in this hobby is the similarities of collections, tastes habits etc of the collectors around the world. I am posting some pictures of my collection to see what I mean. The last picture is taken at one of the London Shows a few years ago. There are all the marching Heritage figures (10 sets) and I set them up. Ken Jackson is a friend of mine and is a person who is dedicated to our hobby. Ken really enjoys a phone call for an order because he likes talking with the collectors.

Hi Thanasis,

You are 100% correct! It is amazing how our collections converge and are alike....:salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::
My Heritage sets came from Ken, and yes he is a great chap to talk to ( via e-mail in my case or the long distance call would make the sets even more expensive....{sm4}{sm4})...
Really liked all the pics you posted and the close quarter fighting...in your case the Mahadits are always on the verge of breaking the square...hahahaa...
Now that I have seen you add the Britains ammo cassion with the dead Mahdists and a sailor firing a revolver standing on it....

Question: The sailor and the dead Mahdists come glued to the cart or you place them on?

Cheers

Luiz

These are not Heritage....The reason for that is due to the fact that Ken has focused on the troops that took part on the First Expedition into Sudan, so they were still using the single shot Henry Martin rifle and the Nordenfelts and Gatlings....Although I also started the collection with those, I preferred to focus on the Second Expedition into the Sudan in the 1890´s so that I could focus on the soldiers aleardy carrying the Lee Metford rifles and more still the Maxim machineguns.....I really like these machineguns and the various tripods and carriages that they used to go into the field...
Cheers
