Welcome Gunn Club to another month of 60mm releases from Thomas Gunn!

SS049 Nebelwerfer: long awaited for and here now in 3 versions: Normandy, Winter and Desert with 120 of each version available. The Nebelwerfer was an iconic German artillery piece that saw action on all three fronts. Nicknamed “Screaming Minnie” by the Allies after its signature noise made by the rockets once they had left the launcher. Although not the most accurate weapon, the Nebelwerfer was ideal for saturation bombing especially where targets were concentrated in an open area.

Our set includes one launcher and four spare rockets. Please note the Desert version will look equally at home on a western front diorama due to the Wermacht policy of painting all military hardware a dark yellow/sand colour from 1943 onwards.

We have made 120 of the winter and Normandy version and 100 of the Desert version.

Priced at $45 and available mid November this is bound to be a popular piece due to the low numbers and realistic pricing we are proud of at TGM.

SS050 Nebelwerfer Crew: Designed to go with our Nebelwerfer we have made 100 of each crew version to go with our rocket launchers. Priced at $31 and available mid November, get yours quick before they disappear in a puff of smoke!

SS044 Blitz: We have been inundated with requests for a new Normandy and Desert version of the famous Blitz 3 ton lorry, well here it is but with a twist!

Both versions are decked out with medical red crosses and a few supplies for the back of the lorry. The Normandy version is in the livery of the 1st Leibstandarte SS Division whilst the Desert version will be suitable for any DAK or Italian campaign unit. Once again we have limited these to 120 pieces and priced our vehicle at $135.

Available now as this particular item arrived early!

NAP021 French Infantry: Advancing to attack with musket lowered and bayonet fixed. We have listened to collectors who requested Napoleonic figures in greatcoats and here they are!! Not only that but we have reduced the overall height ever so slightly in order that they can march alongside K&C’s and the CS Napoleonic troops. Picture attached for proof in case it is needed! Please note the K&C figure is for size reference only and is not included with our figure sets!

Our A version figure is from the Imperial Guard and looks every bit the inch of Napoleonic splendour. Dressed in blue coat and bearskin, who would not be frightened with these troops bearing down on them!

NAP021 B comes with grey coat plus Shako and suitable for any French Line Infantry roll call.

NAP021 C comes with a traditional brown coat plus Shako and once again suitable for any French line infantry diorama.

Each set comes with 2 figures per box (after all you are not going to just buy one of these great figures) and are priced at $64 for two figures. Limited to 65 sets of each version this must be an all time low production number for Thomas Gunn!

That’s all for this month guys, our WW1 Australians and a WW1 vehicle will all make an appearance in Early December fingers crossed!

Best Wishes

Vicki Lucas

Always great to see what TG has in store for us Wayne, especially just after the anti climax of the K&C release schedule each month. Due in a week, little time to move money around to snap these up. Cheers, Robin.

My battery of Winter Nebelwerfer has been ordered. Great stuff
guy:)

Thanks Wayne, more great TG WW2 releases and by the time i get this lot i'll have more TG that i can poke a stick at....{eek3}{sm4}

Tom

Great releases again from TG...love the Nebelwerfers, going to have to get me one or two of those!!. The blitz is also pretty cool, i only wish it had been released as an ambulance with a cabin instead of an open platform....maybe next time!!.

Steve

Oops!!...almost forgot to ask?? Does anyone know if the Nebelwerfers can be used in the towing position???.

Are there going to be any blonde people? I'm blonde-ish. I'm feeling my kin are not getting a fair representation!

Don't 'dawdle' fellas, I just ordered three winter werfers and bet they'll go fast. I can't wait to build dio with them all in battery.

If I made a dio with nebelwerfers, I would ( at least in one of them) put cotton on the edge of the tubes to make the smoke of the firing....Or smoke going up just after the firing.....Nebelwerfer actually produced a lot of smoke after firing the missiles and the servants were obliged to move fast the machine in another area to avoid receiving the counter fire from the enemy who had discovered their location :)

Smart thinking !

I do like the new Napoleonic figures in greatcoats.. :)

BUT...

I don't like the new way of selling 2 in a box, when they are the same figure and restricted to only 65 sets.

One of the great things about TGM is that they sell single figures so you can get as many as you wish.

Maybe they are running out of boxes or can't sell 130 individual figures??

I don't want to have 6 of the same pose, I'd much prefer one of each and that way many more collectors can have these figures in thier collection ..... anyone else think this way?

If you have single figures for sale, let me know.

John

John,
I have nothing against two figures in a box as long as they have different poses. Two of the same figures is a bit too much . I follow your comments and agree with your point of view
guy:)

John..

Maybe, as TG are a small company they are trying to address collectors who buy multiples of figures as best they can whilst doing so with a limited number of releases. Probably, the thinking behind the double sets is that with low numbers of releases per item if a collector bags two or three sets they have a decent little line up before they all disappear. I liked the fact that when they released the FJ's that they were in sets of four and two for the flags which, meant a few sets built up a decent parade.

I know what you are saying about individual figures in single form but, would think this is probably the best way to address a line when you do low production numbers.

CS do a similar thing with the LAH two per box of the same pose.

Guy,

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks like this.

I really like what John Jenkins is doing with his 2 figure releases for many in his range, in particular Napoleonic (SPANISH GUERILLAS & CAZADORES) and 7 YW - Battle of Luthen (PRUSSIAN GRENADIERS), where we get different poses in the one box.

Two the same pose, if an 'on parade' pose is OK, but these guys are in battle, and so are not needed to be identical something that First Legion and K&C provide.

regards,
John

Guys ...

For exactly the reasons that you have articulated, I have no problems with TG releasing the latest Naps in a 2 figure box.

Firstly the 2 figures are not "exactly" the same ... as the slight variation of the rifle strap is better than no difference at all. Much as I like marching, advancing at the ready or at the attention figures, I have generally avoided multiples of "exactly" the same poses. Therefore, this slight variations are much appreciated.

Secondly, whilst they are fighting poses these figures are advancing with rifles and bayonets at the level ... and I definitely need more than 1 to form a small line.

I expect the company may have been forced to adopt such marketing measures to try and keep the cost of individual figures under control .. And in this respect TG has done very well.

PS. Love the advancing Grenadiers :)

PPS ..

Also TG's effort to conform the latest NAP releases with K&C's is very welcomed. Much as I liked TG's first Imperial Guards, I would have loved them much more if they weren't a shade taller than K&C's.
