Met John Jenkins at the NY Toy Soldier Symposium yesterday.
A great guy and talented individual. He showed us new figures and photos of upcoming releases.
Some great new "Battle of Snowshoes" indians and rangers, more British and Jacobites for the Culloden range, British for 1812, Indian village with longhouse and inhabitants, canoe set, Battle of Quebec French and British and the new wagons.
He is also pondering some new ranges so give him your suggestions.
We can expect consistant new offerings!:):)

Clive of India - Battle of Plassey 1757!!!!

18th Century, similar time period to F&I wars, French & Indians, elephants!!!

Now this is a good idea. More 18th Cen. warfare from JJD, and a colorful battle that hasn't been done before. And elephants to boot. Good call. -- lancer

Guys in the next few months - John Jenkins will release one of the best CANOE SETS he has ever done !   - This one is a real keeper and you should start saving your pennies right now !

Other snowshoe releases look great that he has on the drawing board and some real exciting POA releases coming too !

I seconded Ticonderoga! Thanks for the update guys. It sounds like John had a lot of new stuff on display and in the next few months we should expect to see a lot of cool releases. I’m especially glad to hear about the new POA stuff.

You should have seen John painting some of his figures.:cool: John is a person that prefers conversations with one or two collectors to a presentation to a crowd, so this year, like last year, we put him in a comfortable window seat, where no more than 2-3 guests could approach him at a time, and he conversed with various collectors, who rotated in and out, while performing a painting demonstration. His techniques, his skill, and his modesty made his presentation fascinating.

Thank you again John!! It is always a pleasure to spend time with you . . .

It would be great to see some pictures of any upcoming JJ releases. Thanks for all the info.

I hope someone took a picture of the new Indian Canoe set. Sounds like it blew you guys away.

I will be sending some photographs of the Jacobite Diorama John Jenkins kindly presented to me to Brad to post for me on the 2009 New York Symposium thread.

Unfortunately - all we got to see was a photo book which John had brought with the painted model pieces not yet released.

But, trust me - when you see this canoe - you will go WILD !

It's some of his best work yet !

Thanks Ron. Sounds like a winner.

If I remember correctly the new canoe set had two Indians with a Roger's Ranger prisoner tied with a rope around his neck.
The photo looked great with animated poses and facial expressions.

A lot of great F-I art from a local gallery. Here is something similar from David Wright:

You guys in the States are very lucky to have so many shows and other oppertunities to rub shoulders with the artists such as John and Andy.

Don't get me wrong the London shows are great but most of us over here would love to join you at times like these. We would blow most of or budget for the year but having been lucky enough to talk to John at a london show it would almost be worth it.

That is a great picture Combat.

Sends a chill down my spine.

Thanks for posting it,

Michael
