OCTOBER 2024 FIGURE RELEASE (4 Viewers)

Alfie the war dog is utterly adorable. TGM's Egyptians have more colorful POP than KC's AE series but KC's has far and away much more to offer.

Unfortunately TGM's obsession with naked women is disturbing to say the least and has unfortunately completely turned me off to the company. I used to love looking forward to everything they released but these stripper/ SM figures are just bizarre and creepy. I wish they would just go back to doing historical figures- the "one off" woman figure is fine but when it seems like a constant deluge of these types of figures it's just really off-putting.

Hi Chris
Thanks for your input. The pinup girls series has been a good seller to say the least, its also been a welcome distraction from the normal toy soldiers we have made for years. Some dealers will often order double the quantity of these figures than they would a normal military type figure. However all good things come to an end and we only have 2 or 3 pinups planned for the whole of 2025, after that the series will be finished. One reason is we feel its coming to a natural end for us anyway and two we have 5 new German tanks coming next year which will need crews and accessories to compliment them and a smaller number of Allied vehicles. Plus we are making a return to the Foreign Legion series which will include Arab cavalry and 10 all new legionnaires on foot which we will preview in the near future. Believe it or not its not a steady path free of criticism when we make traditional military type figures, we have been slated for making SS soldiers in the past and even for making French Foreign Legion soldiers by one forum member! I also suspect if we were making Israeli or Russian soldiers at the moment somebody would take offence and let us know their views on those. As it stands we make what we think will sell, its purely a commercial decision from this end with no ulterior motive.
Best wishes Catherine

Unfortunately sometimes you are ****ed if you do and ****ed you don’t, you can’t win, but at the end of the day the important thing is that one carries on. TG figures will always find a home in my collection. Robin.

I have collected TG figures and planes for around 12 to 13 years. I have amassed around between 30 to 40 planes, 20 or so vehicles and hundreds of figures. TG are an important and valued part of my collection and I love their Greeks, Romans, French Foreign Legion and many other ranges.

I buy what I like and leave others to buy what is not for me. Pin Up Girls are not for me but the slave market was.

Everybody has an opinion but for me the variety of figures produced by the many manufacturers is the wonderful aspect of our hobby.

So TG keep your variety of figures coming and I will buy what I like and or can afford.
Gary

We should be supporting the few manufacturers that are left not criticising them!

If you dont like something they sell dont buy it, but dont go moaning to everyone else!!

Totally agree with you, Chris. I’m 35 years old and have been in the hobby for only 2 years and it seems like every month the new release from TG has naked women (and it seems like sometimes they are only naked women). It’s very disturbing and creepy, quite frankly. I know this hobby skews older so I have been thinking, “are older collectors really buying this stuff? Not possible.” But, I guess so!

Funny, as a frequent visitor and "poster" on the forum, esp. TG, I have to laugh at how naked women seem to bring out the posters. It would be nice to see you guys chime in more when pictures of specific themes are shared along with suggestions for new figures/pieces. I'm sure TG welcomes and listens to the feedback. In the end, any company is going to produce what people ask for and what sells, which should correlate.

I've always loved TG and continue to appreciate the quality and diversity of their figures.

More Praetorians later if they are still available. Julie will grab us an arc for our AK and/or Ancient Egypt plus the mini-schnauzer set. Our new girl may prefer to go in a kubelwagen but if she continues to eat our furniture she's going to the Eastern Front;). Anyway, Dad's had 6 boys and 2 girls in his life. The TGM zwergschnauzer represents them all. Very fun.
We don't collect the nudies (but we do have some old glossy slave market "gals") but we are very happy that your biz is still going.
Kudos for Warbirds btw

Dear All
Well, 2024 is slipping by and there is already plenty of Christmas stuff in the shops believe it or not, Christmas seems to come earlier every year!
As some of you will know the Thomas Gunn team have had a few weeks of switching and changing various month’s releases, planning for the medium/long term and moving warehouses. We have also been developing and finalizing new AFVs/ranges, plus some interesting additions to our established ranges.
Due to shipping issues the long awaited first of our WW2 AFVs, the Marder 2, will be released in early November 2024. Having seen the completed Self-Propelled Gun, we think this is a classic for any WW2 German military AFV collector.

We hope you will appreciate this month’s releases, figures spanning the depth of time, from the ancient world, the growth of an Empire, the Second World War to post WW2.
ACCPACK105A The Ark of the Covenant. with Rug, Gold jug and plate
The Ark of the Covenant is a most sacred religious relic. Described as a wooden storage chest decorated in solid gold, with an ornamental lid. The Ark is said to contain the Tablets of the Law (The 10 Commandments), by which God delivered the Commandments to Moses at Mount Sinai. As well as containing Aaron's Rod and a pot of Manna.

Legend maintains that the Ark disappeared during the Babylonian sacking of Jerusalem in 586 BC. Archaeologists believe there are no reliable records of the Ark's whereabouts after this date. With places such as Ireland, South Africa, Rome, Ethiopia, and even an American military warehouse being claimed where the Ark can be found.

The Thomas Gunn Ark of the Covenant together with golden accoutrements can be found on our website and/or at your preferred dealer,

An Indiana Jones figure is needed with this. One could also put some Afrika Korps toysoldiers to do an Indiana Jones diorama..

Nice idea. An Indy or similar adventurer would be an awesome addition.

"Treasure Hunters" would be a really fun theme.

We'll take some with more light but it's been a fog worthy of Britain for days and will be for for a few more.
The arc's supplies are on the other side of the AK guys.
Hanomag by Britains, Opel & crew by K&C.
