Last Post Miniatures is very excited to show off the first in our range of scenic diorama mats. Our mats are made of hard wearing neoprene, are richly coloured and give a great effect of texture; along with the benefit of being able to stand your models without fear of them falling over. All our mats are sized approx. 1' x 3' (300 x 900) but may be easily cut to size if required. We intend on extending this range in the near future to include other theatres.

These should work very nicely with IKEA's Billy bookcases.

Some scenic backdrops would be a great follow up to these mats.

Maybe something generic like a dark moody sky that could be used for all time periods and locations.

I'm always looking for a big image with stormy skies. - Too many generic backdrops already out there with blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

Backdrops are in the pipeline. Any other backdrop suggestions?

Funny you mention that... we actually chose the size at 1' x 3' partially because the shelves of Ikea Billy bookshelves are slightly smaller (29 7/8 x 10 1/4).
Also, you can cut them in 3 to fill up the shelves of the glass Detolf cabinets from them, which are also very popular to display miniatures.
To cut these mats, just mark the back of the mat and use sharp scissors

Rorkes Drift backdrop. Britain’s only did one for Isandlawana. I have both Britain’s buildings so would like one that has the potential to be joined to cover x 2 Billy Book cases. Also could be used for Boer War era.

Forest (European) for use as backdrop to say Agincourt - as the archers were flanked by woods or Teutoburg for Roman era.

Love these suggestions

I also think we need more Steppes / plains or wide open spaces.

Hello,

Really like these new mats. 1' x 3' is a great size. Any idea in regard to a release date?

Cannot speak highly enough for the excellent quality of these terrain mats. The road mat matches perfectly with a second one allowing the dirt track to be extended. The grass mat compliments the road mat and is a useful mat on it's own. I have yet to set up the cobblestone mat, but it will look great for any castle dio etc. I will have my hand up for a Winter and Desert mat when they appear. You will be very happy if you decide to get these, I know I am. Robin.

Finally picked up one of these mats. Excellent dimensions for bookshelves and tables. I esp. appreciate the surface for stable figure placement. Would love a winter version!

Yes, desert mats along with quite a few other designs are being worked on as we speak.

Great looking mats. I've recently decided to move away from bookshelf display to larger dioramas. Are you going to produce large table sized mats like 6' x 4'? They could easily be cut down to smaller sizes.
