It is a lot of money but I think you're also getting a lot for your money. It comes with 16 figures. If you calculate $30 a figure, that's $480 right there and it's got many metal parts and it's incredibly detailed. I don't know if we'll see anything like it again in 1/30. If I had the money and the room, it would be a no brainer. The pictures don't do it justice. It is just tremendous.

The other thing is that this is not just a static model because it has so many moving parts to it and you can buy more tracks and have it roll on it.

Don't feel like the lone ranger $1800 is a tremendous amount of money!

And most of the people that could afford it, got that way because they

wouldn't spend it!

I'm sure there is a market for it, and Rick has tested the water with his

E-Boat so I'm sure he is confident.

Its still a lot of money......but you know collectors!

Thats all fine and good, but i always wanted German war trains and items for the Italian front, and this cost just shatters my dreams!! Also, will this fit on 1/32 scale MARKLIN tracks?? Figarati should have a "payment plans"

Don't misunderstand me, I agree with you, its far to expensive and in my

opinion aimed at to limited a market.

Most collectors I would believe can justify $500 to $1000 a year for each of

their hobbies. Maybe you cut back on one and bump another up a little.

When you get to the point where one item is $2,000 or close to it.......it

should be motorized and capable of carrying you and your wife/girlfriend

around!:D

John,

Two questions:

1. When can I expect your gift to show up on my door?

2. Is that wife and girlfriend, all at the same time?:D;)

" Gentlemen, a Toast to your wives and sweethearts.May they never meet!"

Awesome piece.Just dont' know what to do with it. The E Boat too.I am told it floats. Remember Chief Brody in JAWS? " we're gonna need a bigger boat"
I need a bigger bathtub before I get the EBoat.

Not being a collector of Figarti, I have to say figures, vehicles ect are VASTLY Improved from what I saw at my 1st OTSN in 2003. Splendid items.
Need a bigger cave.

FUBaRrrRrrR

Sure is a nice piece very tempting but I dont no if I would buy it or not. I guess its just the way certain people look at things it could be a good investment.

I reckon the K5 is excellent value considering the amount of detail and the shear size of the thing. The only downside for me is the Postage cost and the Import Duty because it exceeds Australia's $1,000 limit.

I have sold several items to collectors in the UK and I know that Queen Liz hits them hard for most imports. But downunder we don't pay any import duty for items under $1,000 :D

I ordered mine and very happy to get one of these beauties. They say "never say never" but in this case this will never be made again in this scale and with this quality.

Thanks Rick,

Carlos

Maybe they could ship in 2 parts or with the figures seperately:D I am sorely tempted but I figure with postage and import duty and recent decline in AUD$ the price could blow out significantly:eek: BTW what is the import duty percentage?

Why isnt the rail gun posted on the figarati web site yet? It is just such a shame that it is $1800,, Most people cant afford it.. Why couldnt a partially plastic or resin version have been made.. Also, could this fit on 1/32 scale railroad tracks??
Rick told me Figarti is redoing its website, so the best information and pictures you will get of the K5 is on this forum.:) After a comment by a collector, Figarti tested a section of G scale track (one made for 1/29 scale) and found that the K5 could roll on it though the wheel flanges are not close to the rail -- it probably could not handle a curve without derailing. At 1/30 scale, it is probably too large for 1/32 scale track. Now all you need is a 1/29 or Aristocraft type engine that can pull 45 pounds.

Don't do it:D:D I had my new K&C 88 flak 18 on the back of a heavy duty flat car, while admiring it going around, it abruptly ended up 'derailing' on a bend in the track chipping the track of the 88. Would not like to see the K5 taking a bend at speed:D:D:D
