On the road to Germany! (1 Viewer)

That's gotta be the best fun in this hobby, when you position out the figures and vehicles, giving life to the diorama. So many angles Tom, you can keep fine tuning and come up with a different look. It's one of those diorama's where you pull up a chair and stare at it and than start repositioning figures for a whole new outcome. Very very nice.:salute::, Robin.

Tom,
it's not my favorite period but it is a very beautiful display.
field, backgrounds, scene of actors and pictures very well done.
Best.
Guy.{bravo}}:salute::

My opinion has changed slightly. From one of the best WW2 dioramas to number 1. Superb diorama Tom. Regards Greg.

Great stuff Tom, love all the detail, colours and theme, plus the backdrop and lighting bring the display to life!:salute::

Hi Tom,

Congrats on the dio....it is incredible to see all the details you have added.....I still recall the first pics when you were starting the project:cool::cool::cool:

Thanks AC and yeah, it's come a long way since then.

Fantastic dio of which from you posts over the months obviously involved an awful lot of time and patience! :salute::

Thanks Robin and I agree, have been a vegetable a few times and sat looking at the diorama thinking of what set up/vehicles, troops etc I should use. I have also just sat there looking at the dio without any figures and vehicles and say gee, did I just create most of this!

Thanks Guy, I appreciate the comments coming from a brilliant dio maker such as yourself.

Gee Greg, you got me speechless again! That's a very big call considering the talent on this forum so thank you and I really appreciate those nice words.

Tom, my favorite pic, is of the GI checking on the dead German mg crew. Great diorama.

Thanks mate, I wanted to create a little scene showing the sad realities of war.

Thanks to everyone else for the additional likes.

Impressive array of armor Tom; a very well done scene. The Easy 8s look very realistic with the new Tanker figures.

Thanks Kat and yeah, they work very well with all 3 AFV's.

The rail line adds a lot of interest. Imagine an armored train headed down that line; it would make a very interesting opponent for the armor.

From conception to a full fledged story, outstanding work !

Thank you so much for sharing the journey.

Thanks Ivan, glad you like it.

Agreed Kat, that would be a nice looking scene. I'm currently keeping my eyes open for a Figarti loco at a reasonable price. I also hope to secure some Figarti rolling stock. It's not an armoured train but perhaps i'll also get the future Figarti tank turret mounted on a railway carriage, that's if it does get released.

Tom; Marklin makes a number of 1 Gauge=1/32 locomotives and rolling stock; some is from the WWII period. Marklin locomotives and track is easy to find on line. A line of flat cars with Pnzers loaded would make a unique display. I have a Marklin 1 Gauge Krokodile electric locomotive; which is Swiss, but Austria had a number of them for heavy freight service in the Alps. Marklin makes real nice locomotives and a 1 Gauge Steam locomotive is close enough no one is going to notice a slight size difference, given the huge size of a locomotive in relation to a Panzer.
I will try to post a photo over the weekend comparing the relative sizes for your reference.

Very interesting Katana, eventhough not all way in WW2 collecting, just scratching the surface, would love to see these great beasts....please post!!! May be that extra effort may switch me into the mode

Spectacular collection and diorama! :salute:: I sometimes feel the Allied D-Day releases are under appreciated. That column with all its various hardware and men is awesome. The diorama setting from the stream, buildings, groundwork, trees etc etc is something special. The best part is that the diorama base is very versatile, you will be able to swap out and use the diorama base for numerous other series in your collection ( e.g. axis, commonwealth, Napoleonics, etc etc )
