Sort of agree on female reporters in men's locker rooms-do male reporters get to go into the women's locker rooms?

Also have to agree about combat-even though, yes, you can point to specific examples of women who are more fit physically than most men. Go to Dennis Prager's website for some good discussion on cultures that blur roles and send women to fight.

As to a woman for President--I have to disagree. I can accept a woman as President, just not THAT woman.

Totally agree, I'm all in favor of EQUAL opportunity for females, but it's gone to far the other way imo.

For example I reckon women reporters SHOULD NOT be allowed in Mens locker rooms if males aren't allowed in female locker rooms. I also reckon women SHOULD be allowed in front-line combat units fighting with the men if that is what they want to do. To have it any other way denigrates women imo. People aren't equal UNLESS they are treated equally.

As for female model soldiers, the only one I have atm is the Russian sniper made by Delprado and would buy more female figures if they were appropriate to my display. Actually, I have been thinking about an excuse to buy the Egyptian Dances, any suggestions.

I suggest Russians Women females in a Red Army uniform or as militia ones. They are beautifully dangerous, the Italians tasted many times they fury in the east front...

Rod.

I would like to see a figure that depicts the sailor lip locking that nurse, celebrating the end of the war, which was one of the most famous photo's ever published from Life magazine.

I agree, K&C women figures are needed
There is vast military history that includes women.

WWII women would be great!!
:]

Dear Sir,

In a great deal of your wonderful WWII products I have noticed something decidely missing. Women! Yes there have been a few in the Russian series for which I applaud you. I have come into several collections of Encyclopedic volumes showing the female participation to be much higher than I was aware of. Yes I , and I am sure you are aware of all the "Rosie Riveters", but I am thinking more of the Service Women. The Russian female Tank drivers Women transport Pilots and Air Raid Wardens. Time Life Books has pictures of German women operating Searchlights and other Observation eguipment!

I am a fan of your work and hope that you will at least consider my request seriously, and perhaps as a small tribute those women made for their countries and loved ones.

Thank you Michjael Steinrok AKA The Vamp

Corgi makes a 1:32nd woman in a man's sailor uniform. It was part of their World War II Recruitment Poster Series. I've got one.

Have the Conte, SS SheWolf that I call " Jill " because she looks just like my neighbor.... really

No....nothing going on, her gate swings the other way

I'll bet the Figarti German Officer with Dog would go good with the SS SheWolf

:D:D:D:D:D
Yeah,
I have the "Jill" figure as well. Nasty looking piece of work.....and destined to hook up with the Figarti German Officer with Dog as well.

Cheers

Just read an article about women in WWII. Russian women served as combat pilots. I believe the Germans called them "Night Witches". Towards the end of the War , Germany put out a call for 100,000 women to man/ woman the AA guns. While they were not actually part of the Luftwaffe some did wear Luftwaffe blue. So more fuel for the fire.

Regards the locker room. Maybe we should just stay out of them entirely or grant free access to all. No double standards if you please.;)

Another thought regards women in combat. They are and have been so let us not worry wether they should be but honour their sacrifices as well. You wear the uniform, you pick up the sword, you get the respect. We do our part and honour them and not bicker about it. This same silliness went on about women cops too. Remember? I treat them the same as anyone who wears the Badge. Some are just cuter! That is not a shot or jest. Fact I date an ex cop, and she is cute!:)

Well if I can add my four penny worth to this thread. If Andy produced multi figure sets of RAF, US AAC etc and there was a female figure of a WAAF, ferry pilot or the like it would not put me off. If another set was produced to go with the Austin Ambulance that had a nurse such as in Ice Cold in Alex then great. If Andy produced an Iceni revolt range to go with the Romans could he leave out their Queen!
SOE had many women who gave their lives in the worst possible way, in labour camps or worse. One SOE woman agent brought about the surrender of a whole German division in the french interior.

Anyone who has seen Carve Her Name with Pride or read the books on the subject should have no reason to exclude female figure, especially in combat poses.

In the next but one village to where I live Edith Cavell grew up she was shot by the germans for running an escape line in WW1. Women and children should not have to go to war but reality is that they do . If we honour their memory then we should not exclude them.
You would never guess that my mother was a nurse in the RAF.

Bring on the girls (just not to many vamps)

I believe you guys only want women to sell to hobby to your wife !

:)

Not a bad idea. I doubt it would work. She thinks I have too many anyways.

Seriously I believe that there just should be a balance to the story we tell about History. We re-enact tories in our dios. Think of the dios we could do if there were more types of figures available.

What about the "coloured troops" fighting in Italy?

Do you not think that a German AA gun womanned by female gunners would be cool?

What about the Tuskegee Airman?

I am not asking to change history just add the appropriate persons.

It is all good. And it needs to be told. I want to help tell it.

Keep talking here and add your info. If we give Andy, or anyone else enough info or interest it can happen.

Hey, If you think about it there were some amazing stories of some women in the ACW too.

If you are going to demand equality there is also the Japanese/American Infantry that fought in the ETO. These guys battled against the Axis forces whilst their families where inturned back home.

I for one would love to see the Nisai troops (Japanese Americans who fought for our Country despite the fact that their families were in concentration camps).

Yes, the 442 Rgt, that's a great subject for a series. Didn't they have more Purple Hearts awarded than any other unit?

Prosit!
Bradley

I saw a documentary on those guys. I guess they would have had some mixed feelings fighting for the US under those circumstances, but apparently their outfits had a very high ratio for bravery awards.

Edit - I just read Brad's post re the Purple Hearts comment, I think they received a number of the higher awards as well.

Louis - Detention or Interment Camps - PLEASE.

The US did not have same kind of Camps that the NAZI's had during WWII.

Ron,

We didn't gas the Japanese citizens we detained, or work them to death or perform experiments on them like the Nazi's did in their death camps, so your point is well taken.

However, the term "concentration camp" was coined by the British for the camps where they detained Boer farmers during the second Boer war, and that was why I used it in my post. Sadly, the British concentration camps unintentionally (I hope) resulted in many deaths due to sanitation problems leading to then common fatal diseases like Cholera and Disentary.

Demand is a strong word. It is more of an impassioned request. And thank you for reminding me. How I forgot I do not know. My hometown is the adoptive home for the 442nd. They were the most awarded unit in the Army.

And so I bring up a new thread for the 10tth Batt. and 442nd Regt.

I still think this is an area that needs work for bringing women into this hobby as collectors not just the spouses of collectors or dealers! I have no problem with women as dealers and even encourage more to do so. But how about showing us guys what you have. I know you are out there! Join my social club and post some pics! Shannon did you can too!
