Ordering Internationally (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

For those based in the US, like myself, have any of you ordered internationally? How was it? I've been itching to order some replicants from Steve Weston but my main concern is customs fees. I have never ordered outside the US before and would appreciate some advice on the matter. Thanks again!

I have ordered things from Berliner Zinnfiguren, Rylit, and from various eBay sellers in Germany. They all use PayPal, which makes it very easy. I have also ordered model kits from HobbyLink Japan, which also uses Paypal. And I've bought castings from John Eden Studios, and from various eBay sellers, in the UK.

Details are going to vary from merchant to merchant, of course, and from one country to another. In my case, shipping rates and times were all very reasonable, in my opinion. And I haven't yet had to bother with any kind of customs declarations or direct customs duties, as some TF members in other countries have to deal with. I do expect that any such duties or fees that my vendors have to deal with on their end, are reflected in shipping costs.

Insurance is a good idea, as is tracking of any kind. I am currently waiting for a figure from a German eBay seller, for which I paid, and for which the seller provided me a tracking receipt, but which is now several weeks overdue. Tracking shows the package as handed off to the Bundespost, but there is no update after that. But that is one out of dozens of transactions I've had. I have no worries.

I have ordered International several times...and have never been charged a customs fee...although my orders are usually small...

Ditto. I have purchased a few things from Russian sellers (non-eBay) and have not been charged any customs fees nor have I had any other issues.

I order things from outside the US all the time. Never had to pay custom fees. I have always had good service and in the years and dozens and dozens of packages I have ordered from outside the US, only one package has not arrived. I was able to track it, though, and got a refund. I might add that I regularly order from Russia, and have ordered from Germany, China, France, Italy, the UK, and others. I, too, was hesitant to buy from Russia at first, but have no qualms now. I have ordered from Steve Weston MANY times over the years and have always had great service from him. No worries.

Mate having just been robbed not to long ago by a member of this forum be careful use PayPal and don't pay as a gift to save some cash on fee,s.
But saying that in many years of OS purchasing he was the only arse hole I have came across
