Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that I'll be at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show on Friday and Saturday, Room #4425, along with Cunnyngham Collectibles. I'll be unveiling some new terrain and diorama features, and also running some live demonstrations on how to use Flex Foam material to create diorama elements.

Below are a few chronological pictures showing the making of a Flex boulder. It's a quick, affordable technique which doesn't take long to get the hang of...no mad art skills required. I'll post a full tutorial on this piece after the show.

Hope to see you there,
Dave

Not come across flex foam before. Could it have another name in the UK or, is it a new product. I use insulation board etc in varying thicknesses which gives a similar effect.

Cannot wait for the posted tutorial always interesting and informative to see techniques posted

Mitch,
Sorry for the slow response...just now resurfacing from the Chicago Show. "Flex foam" is simply a generic term I'm using because Chemically Cross-linked Closed Cell Foam is a bit of a mouthful (and doesn't touch on one of its main benefits). Not sure if there's a maker in the UK, but I would bet there's a distributor. The problem you might run into is having to buy bulk.

So you know, I'll be posting the tutorial early next week.

This Flex Foam looks interesting.
Is it a Home Depot Item ?

Thanks - Denver

Denver,

You won't find it at Home Depot, but it is available in smallish chunks from www.yogaaccessories.com, believe it or not. Apparently they use the stuff as yoga supports. But I'll soon have a supply on my website of more usuable dimensions (and a better color, too). I've got the full tutorial up in the How-To's section now, and I say a bit more about the flex foam material.

Hi, on the website you mentioned, is the product you are talking about the Foam Yoga Block?
