I just rebooked my hotel room at LaQuinta Inn for OTSN. The new rates are 9-23 at $72.25 and 9-24 &25 at $46.75, use the promo code FALL15.
I,ve stayed at this hotel the last 5 years and the rooms in my mind are as good as the Hyatt. The only problem is the hotel is on the other side of the big shopping mall. It is walkable to the Hyatt as I did it all the time when my wife came with me. But if your driving it,s perfect.
Just thought I might save someone some money as this is a big savings over the Hyatt.

Gary - I just checked online and it says the FALL15 rate is not available for this hotel.. still only $55 per nite...

Thx for tip - not sure what I'm doing.. may just drive back and forth as usual.

Please note that for those interested in this Hotel, it has been reported as having bed bugs.

Where have you heard this Brad? According to www.bedbugreports.com and www.bedbugregistry.com the LaQuinta Inn in Schamburg has had NO REPORTS of any bed bug problems. Like Gary, I stay at the LaQuinta every year and the rooms are very comfortable and clean and they provide a very nice complimentary breakfast.

Mike,

I'm only going by the registry site. Don't put in a name but click on the map where Illinois is. If you want I'll post a photo showing this.

It should also be noted the Registry is not saying there are bedbugs in any of these hotel only that a report has been made. Like someone else said I wouldn't sweat it.

According to the registry, Illinois has had 84 bed bug reports. If you click on the map where Chicago is, a list of hotels come up on the left hand side of the web page. Scrolling down to La Quinta Inn in Schaumberg and clicking on it will show that there has been no reports at this address. There is just no foundation that this hotel has a problem any more so than the Hyatt.
:) Mike

I just reported what was on there but didn't click on the hotel so don't kill the messenger here and frankly don't care since I'm not staying there. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

You do have to ask though why it's on the list since if you click on others there are bug reports. BTW, the Hyatt Regency isn't on the list. Guess I don't have to worry.

Bed buggz or not , How far is the walk?
fubAr

Maybe two miles if you walk/cut across Woodfield Mall. The Hyatt is on one side of the mall and the LaQuinta is on the other side of the mall. If you need a ride I can certainly give you one. I am arriving on Thursday morning and leaving Saturday afternoon.

I assume that you are staying off-site so that when you abduct Ken Osen to force him to make more dioramas with you, Erika will have a harder time tracking you down...;)

Not to dispute my good friend Mike, but it is not a 2 mile walk, a half mile maybe a little more when you cut thru the mall parking lot. As I stated I walked it for 17 years when my wife attended and she took the car. Only real problem arose if it rained.

:):):)Let me wade in the bugs here. In essence, you are all right. La Quinta has had no reports, I think it appears because of the mapping function (probably gps based) on the website and therefore, its name is marked. Let me repeat though, it has no reports. I stay at the Marriott Springhill (out the back door of the Hyatt) and it will appear under search, but no reports.

SO, no need to worry, you are all technically correct, just the interpretation was muddled. See, you just needed a CPA audit, not a lawyer, public safety official nor a diorama apprentice.:):):)

Cya soon!

Thanks Tom, I can now put my tent and sleeping bag away.:)

Tom is right. As I noted earlier I hadn't clicked on the link so apologies to all for any confusion created. It must have been a mistake on the Registry's part to include them.

However, Gary, if some little friends show up in your room, you're welcome to stay with me. Just don't bring your new pals with you :D

You can be sure I'll be seeing Ken & Erica, in fact I already have some of their H&A scenics reserved for pick-up.

I stand corrected - It was just a wild guess on my part since I never have walked it. I know it doesn't seem to far and certainly walkable. I will still offer rides to and from for anybody interested or in need.

Thanks Tom for the follow-up and setting us all on the correct path.

Mike,
no worries, I may have short changed you on the diorama apprentice at this point, I think you graduated based on your latest creations!!!!!
