Pacific: Episode 9 (2 Viewers)

Snafu and Sledgehammer both died as old men in 2001. Snafu became an AC installer/repairman up around Baton Rouge, LA after the war, lived a quiet and peaceful life from what I heard. Like so many others tried to put it all behind them and move on. My dad went to work at a local brewery after he came home..Wound up working with former German POWs for years afterwards..He had no problem with them..To him, they weren't his enemy...

You ever heard of the bitterness felt by a lot of U S Servicemen over the rear end kissing the german POWs were given buy the locals???? passes,,work release,,time with the local girls,,who knows what thru the fence,,assusming anyone had a peaceful life after wartime experiences is a typical myth,,Audie Murphy suffered from extreme PTSD leading to his alcholism.More indications of why 1946 had the highest divorce rate in history until that time.
