The barn that will house the Pak 40 is almost ready . Exterior is painted and detailed , interior is also detailed and painted ( not visible on the picture- will be a surprise when the dio will be completely finished) It is the Verlinden ruined barn, it has no detail at all on the interior. My gun will be placed in the barn so detailed interior walls are a must. It still has to receive a roof section, part of a wooden 1st floor and it has to be adapted to the 1/30 scale . One of the walls still needs a door. Now it will be assembled and all the exterior and interior detail added .
Gun and crew will be repainted. Hope you will see the final result within a couple of weeks.

Just how do you "adopt it to the 1/30th scale?" Can't wait to see what that means!

Different way to go when you design a building to accommodate a gun, should be interesting,{bravo}}, cheers, Robin.

I simply add 1cm to the width and the height ( bottom) of the building which is 30cm in reality. This should do the trick. This addition is then camouflaged by the groundworks and instead of glueing the walls to each other on the inside of the buiding I glue them to the outside of the building, makes it 2cm larger. Doors and windows and gate can stay the same, because in barns there was no standard size for windows, doors etc..

coming along nicely. Like the adaptation to the miniart buildings. I have a few myself but, never got around to doing anything with them.

Mitch, It's not a Miniart but a Verlinding building ( ruined barn-just 4 walls in the kit and only outer wall has some detail) . The roof structure , wooden floor and wooden inside wall I made myself. The tiles are from Add-on-parts.

that's already looking great Guy, i am working on something similar for a winter setup( but your details are MUCH better).

Great looking structure Guy and the roof that you made looks great with the Verlinden walls. Looking forward to the end result with the PAK repaint.

Thanks Poppo and all the other collectors who sent me their positive comments. I will now finish the barn first in full detail, food supplies, hay, farm tools etc ....

Guy..

Thanks for that its been a while since I looked at Verlinden and, with the deluge from miniart they all now look similar. I suppose they have to base their ideas somewhere!!

I scratch build all my buildings now but, there is in the new issue of AFV modeller a very nice miniart rural building with added roof and wooden floors so, they can be easily added to.

Look forward to seeing the final product
