There is not alot of talk about the new Panther . Who has it and what do they think. Are there any photos in dioramas with it. I like it and may pick one up but would like to see what everyone thinks. How does the zimmerit look. Simmo.

I have one. I like it, but the price is steep. I prefer the Snow Tiger for the money and the newest Panzer III is a good buy. I don't know how zimmeritt should look on a tank, so I don't know if its accurate. I prefer the tank without zimmmeritt

That is the reason I am interested in it. Simmo.

Sorry Simmo havn't studied the Zimmerit, but the painting and tracks look good to me.

The panther is a very good model of the Ausf its representing and, the zimmeritt looks very well applied some of the problems can be when its modelled to thickly in some cases but, thats not a problem here its well worn look also, is very realistic.

As Rob has mentioned the tracks and wheels are also good detail and far better IMO than on the previous normandy panther.

Yes, its a price but, I would say well worth having a punt and buying if you want a panther for your collection.

I, too, am curious about the new Panther. I would like to know if the base color of dark yellow is as bright as the "glow in the dark" yellow on the older Normandy Panther. The stock photos of the new tank look more muted but it is hard to tell. Can anyone help? -- Al

To buy or not to buy....that is the question? :D I'll use the analogy of a car trade in. I've got a preowned WS072 Panther. Its in good shape, well maintained, few miles on it, rarely been on the 1/30 road, mostly stored. Do I trade it in for the newer model? What will my trade in value be? I certainly can't have both..( that's what my wife says  ). Does the newer model have enought stylistic improvements to make it worth my while? How about the price? What are the financing terms ( @ $200+ )?
Currently I'm going to stick with my WS072. If I didn't have an Panther I would pick up this version. I think the only way I'd trade in my WS072 would be if a newer version had polka dot camo and side skirts.

I went through the same thought process on each K&C reissue of an old model. I usually stick with the original version - they have a style that the new ones don't. One of the few older models I am not going to keep is Wittman's last tiger - just don't like it enough and I hae 3 other K&C tigers I like better.

I have one and it looks excellent ,i must say in my opinion its better than the model before it ,but i still prefer the original winter panther ,i hope Andy does a repaint of this model in white wash it would be cracker:cool::cool:
Regards Scott

KC AFVs keeps getting better & better. I prefer their newer tanks than the older ones. KC's new Panther is their best one. Terry, I love Wittman's last Tiger (turret number 007). If I had a core collection (I keep everything), this Tiger would be a keeper. Really like the camo paint plus good crew. I see this Tiger as the transition from the old style to the newer style. I just wish KC would put MGs on the cupolas when appropriate. I see we're getting anntennas now, which is great.

I don't use the antennae - they stay in the box. And I rarely mount the MG as they were typically not mounted on the tank. I think they were mainly for aircraft.

How does this new K&C Panther compare to CS Panther in terms of track details, painting..etc...I'm planning to pick one up ( either KC or CS) next year when budget is available :)

cnq...

They both have their pro's and cons I would have to say its neck and neck (ish) for me apart from price but, in this instance the new K&C panther nicks it slightly. CS seems better painted but,the look of the K&C panther looks more the way it should look. Sounds strange but, I know what I mean just looks a little more meaner.

Thanks Mitch for you comments.

The new panther's yellow/tan paint is not as bright as on the ws072. It looks more like you would expect it to. I don't own it yet but have seen it personally at ostn

I like WS72 because of the action captured by the figures that are included. However I think this new panther is just as good if not better. The new Panther also goes well with the other 12th SS releases. I like it better than the CS Panthers because I feel that the CS items still have a “toyish” look to them.

And like many of you I can’t wait to see of K&C makes a winter version!

i have it its a very good tank. i like it alot very crisp details and tracks are clean and detail is great

I think the K&C Panther is the better looking of the two but it will cost you a extra £90.00 to get it over CS one ,on the + side the CS does come with metal grill cover + the blown tracks but I fill the colour let it down & it on the big size going by y HB Panther

I'm keeping the original K&C Panther and a HB Panther and saving the cost of the new K&C Panther for something completely new from K&C. While the new Panther has better details, the crew on the original Panther can't be matched at current prices in a set.
