Several members mention the weight of the new Panthers so if anybody is interested here are some pics. Not bad considering the real ones weigh 44 tons.

Looks like there's a new heavyweight in the 1:30 division, the winner by a TKO: Honour Bound.:D

I gotta' say that Brad sure is brand loyal.;)

Stick to your guns.

Hay, that's a triple pun (Brad is a lawyer, a K&C collector and very vocal). :p

Quantity doesn't mean quality :D

Fred, it's only fair you give me a chance to respond by telling me what you do

I gues the HB Panther is true to scale down to its miniature weight.

Sure Brad, I'm a firm believer in fairness, something most of your statements concerning the new HB panther seem to lack. The "quanitity doesn't mean quality" remark was way off base, the HB panther a remarkable first effort and it gets a little tedious reading your put downs of it. Now, to answer your question as to what I do.........nothing!:D I'm sure you were hoping I would say "used car salesman", but that would make it to easy for you.;) Have a nice day.

Fred

Nothing? Not surprising. You obviously didn't read my posts carefully. Again, not surprising. I said the tank, on balance, is better. It's in the other areas that it's not: packaging, figures, etc. If you've read elsewhere, I'm critical of the tracks and how K & C needs to do some catch up. If it's not altoghether clear, Andy is going to have some catchup in the tracks and some of the details area, where HB seems much better. On the other hand HB needs to make some adjustments too but for a first effort, it's remarkable and occupies a special place in my collection where I keep my favorite pieces. On the the other hand, the K & C Panther has been relegated to one of the lesser areas. The quantity/quality comment was said in jest, as apparently yours was. But I guess you couldn't tell that. Oh, by the way, I happen to have the first HB Panther ever made and the certificate from Ana and Daniel to prove it. Why? Because I helped them legally. I guess we're good for something, better than nothing I suppose.

The difference in weight probably can be attributed to the use of metal in the HB tanks and different mixes of the polystone or resin.

Brad, as the old saying goes: 'everyone hates lawyers, until they need one' :)

Well Brad, I did not mean to start a discussion about your profession. I was only noting that I actually could come up with a triple pun. I hope you forgive me, I was only saying that you have a valid opinion and you stick to it.

Anyway, I just got my K&C Panther and I love it. Yes the tracks are shall I say busy, but this tank looks very well thought out and put together in a manner I think is wonderful. I have it proudly displayed with my one Jagdpanther, two King Tigers, two Stugs, and two Tigers. They look really good all lined up side-by-side. I can not wait until I get the HB Panthers. For an old salt like me, its a change to be into armour like I have become.

Michael,

No offense taken.

By the way, the Jag is heavy, although not as heavy as the HB tanks. The Jag comes in about 4 pounds, seven ounces on my scale whereas the HB on mine comes in at a shade under 5 pounds. What does that tell us? Not much, except that they're heavy tanks. Interesting, but useless facts.
